3/3 When things are made for people other than fit folks, the prices skyrocket. Society can be so cruel in its expectations of us all, leaving people frustrated and feeling defeated.
Gear companies need to do better.
*DON’T post links I have one now.
This is Fidèle. He napped on that windowsill, over the Groenerei canal in Bruges, Belgium, for over a decade. By doing so, he quickly became one of the most photographed dogs in the world...
@AZInformer @kroger@FrysFoodStores@KayJewelers@Hallmark This is excellent news! Thank you fpr sharing all of these companies who are listening to what matters to women out there.
I am fortunate to have an aura when my seizures are coming on. Many are not as fortunate as I am. All the dogs are good dogs, but Koda won a special place in my heart. Should my epilepsy ever change, I would hope to have a dog as good as he is💜 good job @dog_rates
Have you ever been told you COULDN'T do something?
We aren't talking about, you can't EAT that thing because it will kill you (looking at you dogs)
OR
you won't make the NBA because you're terrible at basketball (looking at you dadguy).
We are talking about being told you COULDN'T do something because of WHO you are.
Dadguy - @ZedScience - was never, ever told he couldn't do things.
In fact he was always told the stuff he could do.
He was told:
Oh, you could be lawyer, you're great at writing and making arguments.
Wow, you are great a public speaking, you should be a teacher.
You're decent at science, maybe think about being a scientist.
He was NEVER told:
You know, that thing you want to do...it's really not for men.
On #InternationalWomensDay we want to shout out to all of the women who were told that the thing they wanted to do wasn't for girls and basically said "f" that I'm doing it anyway.
Our humans talk to scientists ALL of the time.
Many of the women scientists talk about having great role models who cheered them on and championed their choices in STEM.
Many speak about people who have stood in their way and said the thing you love and you want to get isn't for you.
Because you are a girl.
To rise up over that take courage.
Things aren't equal or perfect yet. We hope one day they will.
Our small role in this is highlighting the women who said "f" that and did it anyway.
The young girls in school today see themselves in you.
