Good morning. Just one of the dozens—or rather, hundreds—of daily Russian terrorist attacks on the civilian population. More dead, more maimed. And with its stance, the @NHL continues to enable these crimes for the fifth consecutive season.
Russians: "Biolabs in Ukraine!"
Also Russians: Unleashed the literal plague on their own city because they broke the test tube containing live bacteria in, yes, a biolab.
This is insane! The @NHL is well aware that this post supports Russia's worst criminals, and the NHL will bear responsibility for more people killed and maimed in Russia's imperialist war in Ukraine. And yet, they did it. For the NHL, human lives do not come first!
Ovechkin should be asked by reporters about his support of Putin and the war in Ukraine every game. And Washington Capitals PR should be asked about their response as well. This is a big story in the NHL this season. Thank you for writing about it, Barry.
Everything indicates that the @NHL will once again this season serve as a massive advertisement for Russia's imperialist war, and it will result in death and maiming of many more people. Sooner or later, the NHL will have to pay 🇺🇦 tens of billions for the damages it caused.
Just saw that the Toronto maple leafs signed a russian player. I’ve supported this team since I was born. I endured years of failure, disappointment and embarrassment - but I won’t support this. russians have no place in sport.
Fuck the Leafs. Fuck the NHL. Fuck russia. 🖕
If you are a Canadian citizen, please sign the House of Commons petition to sanction Russian propagandist Alexander Ovechkin and render him inadmissible to Canada.

From @TheAthletic: There is an ugly stain on Alex Ovechkin's legacy, our columnist writes. His public, persistent support of Vladimir Putin. The NHL's all-time leading goal scorer's "explanations have been absolutely shallow and borderline dismissive."

Rocky Balboa (2006) A great scene, Rocky giving the iconic, heartfelt speech to his son, Robert Jr, about how hard life is, how winning is not about how hard you can punch, but how much punishment you can take and keep pushing forward, what true courage is. Inspirational🥊
I want answers. And I want accountability.
I spoke with Cornell’s president today, and the university has agreed to bring in outside counsel for an independent investigation.
I’ve directed my team to look at what more we can do to strengthen protections for survivors.
This culture has to stop. And in New York, we’re going to do everything we can to stop it.
