Hi #EconTwitter!
Want to dive deep into Instrumental Variables in #Econometrics through the lens of an #economics Nobel laureate?
Check out this review by @guido_imbens (@stanford), bridging historical economic applications with experimental contexts.
Highly recommended!⭐️
My brief thoughts, "Towards Improved and More Transparent Ethics in Randomised Controlled Trials in Development Social Science," are included in this Cohn & @DouglasPMacKay's bibliography.
I've just issued an revised and updated working paper, here https://t.co/e8JKejX92c
Yesterday marked a year since I joined Upwork. Leaving academia was not easy: I am an economist to my bones, and I feared to be too academic for the private sector (yet not academic enough for academia, as my PhD time had shown). My fears turned out to be completely false. 🧵1/8
@causalinf You should open a Twitter account for the “mixtape Enterprise”. Your followers will be extremely grateful to do not have to follow you to LinkedIn 🙏🏼
Our paper "More than Words: Leaders’ Speech and Risky Behavior During a Pandemic" (@DaMataDan and @TiagoCa01150760) was conditionally accepted in the AEJ: Econ Policy (@AEAjournals)!
The message: the rhetoric of populist leaders has meaningful impacts on risky behavior.

I have only one shout-out to add to @Hyderabadi_chai's great thread. This project began in 2012 when I got a @JPAL email about an open-ended oppy to work w/ Govt of Haryana on gender equity. Thanks to @ShobhiniMukerji, @iqbaldhali, @JPAL_SA for building deep govt partnerships.
This talk by David Card on "design based identification" vs "model based identification" is really nice, especially if you like the history of causal inference, as well as the substance and the arguments. https://t.co/TqsJoe9iOm
Hey #econtwitter, what are good examples or guidelines to teach students to make really nice figures and graphs for presentations of empirical work, for larger in-person talks or broad audiences, where readability is important? @OppInsights has beautiful slides, for example.
I don't think students understand the emotional toll professors go through when they call out cheating. We don't like it. But we have to be fair. I hate doing it. Please, please don't cheat. It benefits no one.
