@StrCoachNetwork Incorrect. Most ACL research focuses on one question:
When to return to sport?
Running is not that important of a milestone. Most are ready when they are around a 60-70 quad index. That's around 3-4 months for most. We still have 6-9 months of rehab.
@NickHoopes_ I rarely see huge short term benefits that last into the next treatment session. Not sure I can even attribute short term benefits to the manual. However, I have seen negative effects that I can attribute to manual therapy.
@NickHoopes_ That is assuming the short term good effects outweigh the long term negative effects. Someone that becomes dependent on manual therapy to reduce their pain is not benefitting the health care system. Unfortunately, the majority of clinicians I see believe more is better.
@pntrack It's estimated that .012% of the population can squat 405 lbs. So for the majority of folks it is prob true that getting stronger = faster. No one is saying not to sprint to get faster. PLifters and bodybuilders prioritize mass and are still prob faster than mass equiv. Norms.
@spikesonly Technically, isometrics are an isokinetic load and isometrics are frequently used throughout training and rehabilitation. I wouldn't use it for just training but it does offer the ability to train low speed and high speed eccentric overload.
@Hey_TBA @LionelChiaPT@_JSAMS@Fr_Aiello@chridiclaudio@Maurizi13707619@francoimpell@soosb70 @Lean_Wolf @Alan_McCall_ Disagree on this point. Deceleration from great speed is awesome, but being able to decelerate quicker from all speeds increases COD ability which allows the offensive player to create space for more effective evasive maneuvers and allows the defensive player to decelerate later
