“God is love.”
That’s literally what the Bible says.
“Love God & love your neighbour.”
That’s also quite literally in the Bible.
Jesus says it.
Will we believe & follow?
Or will we add our own, sinful whataboutisms to it?
@srouse501@unsafeturtle Hi! The United Methodist Church recently removed the harmful and restrictive language regarding the LGBTQIA+ community, not the Free Methodist Church. 2 separate and distinct Methodist denominations. The OP is talking about the Free Methodist Church.
@ZachWLambert While I do agree with you here, I’d add that God COULD use Trump’s character/leadership for good too, but just because there is precedent doesn’t mean He will.
@DylPar252 I grew up in Illinois and have no idea what “Gravy Bread” is and currently live in Ohio and have yet to encounter “Goetta” (don’t know what that is either)
But Walking Tacos… those I’m familiar with and have had numerous times (though I call them Tacos in a Bag)
@PastorTrey05 Obviously you take a lesson from Miss Trunchbull. Acquire a bunch of bananas and force your son to eat them all in your presence, not allowing him to leave until they have been entirely consumed
@elfsocks@DylPar252 That’s a good way to phrase it! (If I were to use the phrase “uniquely challenging” that would be my intended implication of the phrase)
@elfsocks@DylPar252 I do think “uniquely challenging” is a fair assessment but that doesn’t mean it’s more or less challenging than other professions (even though I’m sure in many cases the implied meaning of that phrase is “more challenging”).
@LivRNyyc@mghooverwriter@RevDaniel I’ve read Witness At The Cross by her and it’s fantastic. There’s also a fascinating children’s book by her titled Who Counts? 100 Sheep, 10 Coins, and 2 sons
This is God's world. One with diversity claimed as good. We, The United Methodist Church, are at the place to value diverse contexts in which we live and give each other the freedom to witness to our neighbors. #UMCGC
