2. After Mahābhārata, lakhs of men died — where’s the mass Sati?

3. Dasharatha’s wives lived on after his death — why no Sati?

4. Tārā and Mandodarī (wives of fallen warriors) remarried, with full respect — even blessed by Shri Rām.

5. If Mādrī committed Sati, why didn’t Kuntī, who lived decades after Pāṇḍu’s death?

6. Ask yourself — if Sati was mainstream, why don't even the exhaustive ritual manuals mention its steps?

These texts describe how to gulp water during a Yajña — surely they’d explain a widow-burning ritual if it existed in Dharma as an essential practice.

7. The word “Sati” means a woman committed to Satya.

8. Yes, there are rare stories of women dying on funeral pyres — often medieval, unverifiable, or miracle-soaked tales.

But this is either from:
a. Jauhar era post-Islamic invasions

b. symbolic language misread as literal

So no, there’s no Vedic ritual called Sati.
