J.K. Rowling has published a new essay defending her views on the trans community and calling out trans activism in the 21st century for being "elitist."
"My views haven't changed... what to me represents no change at all in my political or ideological outlook has, in recent years, seen me and women like me subject not only to criticism but also to death threats. This is because we oppose the current, dominant strain of trans activism, which holds that a man who declares himself a woman is, literally, a woman, and is therefore entitled to be treated as a woman in all contexts..."

Cyndi Lauper tells The Guardian she doesn’t believe in cancel culture and doesn’t regret approving Nicki Minaj’s sample of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” over her political views:
“The fact that she did ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ musically – it’s a political thing anyway, babes. Girls just want to have fun. They’re entitled to a joyful experience in this world. Like it or not, we’re here. We’re not going out in the rice fields any more. Yes, rise up and put your foot down, and she did. I don’t know what she’s doing now. But I still don’t think you cancel people, because otherwise there’s no room for discussion. If you want people to listen to you, you need to listen to people. If you don’t let people evolve, what are you doing?”

“First of all, I don’t believe in cancellation. And second of all, the fact that she did ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ musically, it’s a political thing anyway, babes. Girls just want to have fun. They’re entitled to a joyful experience in this world. […] But I still don’t think you cancel people, because otherwise there’s no room for discussion.”
Lauper also emphasized the importance of listening to others and allowing people the space to grow and evolve, adding, “If you want people to listen to you, you need to listen to people. If you don’t let people evolve, what are you doing?”

"If you want people to listen to you, you need to listen to people. If you don't let people evolve, what are you doing?"
I am truly speechless that @nickiminaj just sent me the remaining amount to pay off one of my credit cards that I use for my prescriptions, copays, etc. She took time out of her day, to bless me. I truly have been trying to find the words for right now. I will shout it to the roof tops about her saving my life as a closeted kid in a small town growing up. & For her to see me, and do that, knowing small things I've shared on the timeline with her.. I truly am speechless. I still think about little nic and him being scared bro. If I could tell him one thing, I'd tell him to always be himself and to love who he wants to love. AND BE PROUD. nicki, thank you for doing this. I feel like I can breathe and get ahead now. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. God bless you always 😭💖
@ShesFishy@minajmaximoff She truly is one of a kind. She is one of the only artists I have seen who brags about stuff but always come back to bite her. 😭
