One of my pet peeves is hearing people say, “Schools need to teach finances.”
They probably did. You just didn’t pay attention.
The same way health class taught you what healthy habits look like, yet people still vape, live off fast food, and drink energy drinks daily.
I’ve seen this narrative floating around (specifically with one fan base) that it’s somehow “unethical” how Dusty May built a team with transfers. Here’s how many transfers each Sweet 16 team picked up last offseason:
Iowa- 8
St John's- 7
Nebraska- 6
Texas- 5
Iowa State- 4
Alabama- 4
Michigan- 4
MSU- 3
Tennessee- 3
UConn- 2
Illinois- 2
Arkansas- 2
Purdue- 2
Houston- 1
Arizona- 1
Duke- 0
Dusty isn’t doing anything differently. He’s just doing it better. Y’all are mad because he’s evaluating, landing, and developing top talent better than you.
For all of you “athletes” running away from … or trying to hide in the weight room… this is a pic of the GOAT - Michael Jordan. LIFTING … all season long and YES, regularly on NBA GAME DAYS.
Note: Read what MJ’s trainer said in pic below. Note: pic and story Credit IB Network and Tim Grover
KEY!!! **** Lifting helps wake-up and ignite your nervous system to be ready to compete! You don’t have to go ballistic (no maxing out in-season), but you should get your body ready to perform at an elite level!!!! … while maintaining strength that you will critically need throughout the entire season to be at your best.
Of course continue to execute flexibility routines, eat healthy, hydrate, and put your phones away at night and sleep. 8 plus hours if possible.

🚨 Advice from Jackson Holliday
- Keep lifting & eating during the season
- Fatigue can derail great years
- While others fade, you get stronger
⭐️ Your goal as a player is to peak at the end of the season - not today.
CFPB - closed
USAID - closed
Medicaid - under attack
NIH cancer funding - frozen

But do you know who just got a NEW government contract for $38,858,978 literally today?

One of the best things you can do for a hitter is help them become their own coach. We don't advance in this game with a hitting coach in our back pocket every at bat. Learn your swing and how to make adjustments on the fly. Listen to the ball. It speaks to you.
Know the "whys” behind what works and does not work in your swing and/or approach.

The weight room may be the most fair place in the athletic world. No referees making bad calls. No selfish teammates. No coaches dictating the way. No one from the stands booing. You either simply get in there consistently & do the work or you don’t. And it shows either way.
If your 16 YO student athlete isn’t willing to make his or her own meals and get to bed on time they don’t really care about being elite. Seriously, if a 16 YO who has a license, has a cell phone, spends hours a day on social media and drives one of your vehicles they should absolutely be able to structure a routine to supports their goals.
Summer isn’t a time to goof off it’s a time to dial in your nutrition, sleep, hydration, training, and habits. Don’t claim you want to be great and want a D1 scholarship yet have a work ethic consistent with intermural sports.
Tough love from me today.. there’s a lot of hard working athletes out there hungry to get better and they will outperform those who relied on “talent” this summer. Champions are built in the offseason.
Instead of pitchers posting that they hit 92 once… Can we start posting about Pitchability? Maybe some video on located 2 strike pitches, or showing you can locate FB inside consistently. Velo is cool, but can you also PITCH? #portalproblems ⚾️ 🤷🏼♂️
"To be successful at anything, the truth is, you don't have to be special.
You just have to be what most people aren't:
consistent, determined, and willing to work for it.
No shortcuts." @TomBrady
The path to greatness is simple, but it's not easy.
So many of education’s problems in the US can be summed up with:
-You can’t really reward & incentivize good teachers
-It’s near impossible to get rid of bad ones
-We try to treat parenting problems as teaching problems
-Society treats educators as a low status profession
