Excited to share our latest work with @xiaoxiong2n in @NatureNeuro! 🧠⚡🐭
We uncover how vagus nerve stimulation alleviates pain and modulates pain-related negative affect via a cNTS–PAG–VTA–NAc dopamine circuit.

The Trump administration has announced it will dismantle a $368 million deep-ocean monitoring system that provides critical data on the world’s oceans, per CNN
I think there are 2 different discussions happening here:
The first is whether delayed gastric emptying should be a listed side effect in both cases— the answer is unequivocally yes.
The other is whether patients revert pretty close to normal gastric emptying rate. Which is pretty interesting if true.
Preclinical and prior clinical studies demonstrated GLP-1 agonism 💊 and amylin agonism cause delayed gastric emptying 🐌🍽️
Zenagamtide (amycretin) a dual GLP-1/amylin agonist does not delay gastric emptying, according to a new presentation at ECO 2026 📊🔬
These results that the increased satiety and impressive weight loss with this dual agonist is centrally mediated, by way of the brain's appetite centers 🧠, and not gut driven.
The concern that delayed gastric emptying could increase peri-operative of endoscopy adverse events would also not apply to this molecule ✅🩺

Professional athletes are quietly ditching AirPods for wired headphones.
Brendan Ruh (Santa Cruz Medicinals) explained on Jack Neel’s podcast that many pros are making the switch as more info comes out about EMFs. They’re hedging their bets on performance and long-term health until we know more.
He still uses AirPods sometimes in the gym (wired ones get tangled), but at home he sticks with wired and even has a Wi-Fi-free zone for sleeping.
Bluetooth devices like AirPods emit non-ionizing radiofrequency radiation. While exposure levels are well below current safety limits set by the FCC and ICNIRP, some studies have raised concerns about potential effects on mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, and neurological development at very low levels. Long-term human data is still limited.
When elite athletes, whose bodies are their livelihood, start avoiding something most people use daily, it’s worth paying attention while the science develops.
Do you use wireless earbuds, or have you switched to wired?
My phd was 50% about modulating the HPA axis.
This is bullshit.
Bikman once again demonstrating he doesn’t understand basic physiology (despite the fact he teaching endocrinology at the university level).
And RP is helpful to acid test him.
A BYU metabolic scientist spent 20 years studying why belly fat is impossible to lose.
His finding: it's not about calories.
It's about your HPA axis — and most people have NEVER heard of it.
Here's what it is, why it's storing belly fat, and 6 ways to calm it down:👇
It is funny that Vinay Prasad uses ICI to throw shade at daraxonrasib saying ICIs "are cures"
Just 2 years ago, he published a paper saying ICIs are "modest":
"ICIs are increasingly used in the treatment of cancer, yet the median OS improvement is modest, and many ICIs have not been tested for OS benefit."

They could spend $10M per year and still have $200M after 5 years assuming 5% returns (which is nothing).
He’s not a very good agent if he is having clients burn through a $10M/year lifestyle.
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul says $200 million isn't as much money as athletes think
"I got guys, 22, making $200 million over the next four or five years. I'm constantly telling them that's not a lot of money based upon where you're starting, because you're starting from zero"
"How do we understand how to compound that. Everyone's not going to play into their 40s. They're done when they're 33. They're paying a 51–55% tax"
"Not to mention jeans today, the ones they want that they're buying in excess, which they probably don't really need, cost $2,000"
"No athlete can afford to fly private all the time, yet we see so many athletes on Instagram flying private"
"I fly Delta. I cannot afford to fly private, and that's okay with me. I'm just trying to get where I'm trying to go to make the money. I'm not trying to spend the money"
"The times I do fly private, you will never see it on Instagram because it's not for show"
There is no relevant data either way in this. Let’s not pretend like there is.
There is a small amount of data in rodents, primarily from a Croatian group— it’s of highly suspect relevance and is a veritable mixed bag (some of the systems aren’t even really relevant to angiogenesis 🤷♂️).
A more functional NIH might study it in a meaningful way, but this HHS seems like it’s about to blind approve it instead.
Does BPC-157 cause cancer?
No study has ever shown it feeding tumors. In fact, a couple have even shown it slowing them.
But none of this has been tested properly in humans, so the honest answer is we don't actually know yet.
Perhaps my most controversial take:
The lawyers who stripped the corpse of FTX for hundreds of millions to billions in legal fees are bigger crooks than SBF ever was.
