- Adding 100 H-1Bs to the economy produces 183 jobs for Americans
- Adding 100 H-2Bs produces 464 jobs for Americans
- About half of US postdocs (PhD-level STEM researchers) are on J-1s, no science without them

As you read various arguments floating around that perhaps we should ease public health restrictions to help the economy, I want you to notice that IN NO CASE ARE THESE ARGUMENTS BEING MADE BY ACTUAL ECONOMISTS.
@Claudia_Sahm@GarettJones Had to look it up too... apparently means “if I understand correctly” which he pretty much is. If you got a second, what would the Sahm-approved stimulus look like? Any specific things to cater it towards compared to one for a recession or would they be basically the same?
