Overnight and morning data so far suggests the forecast remains on track with 8-12" of snow across the metro by the time everything is all said and done come Sunday night. Lesser totals the further west and north you go from St. Louis with better chances of places seeing around a foot or more of snow the further south of St. Louis you go. #stlwx

Roads in St. Louis are deteriorating FAST. On the modot app roads went from mostly clear to partly covered in under 10 minutes. #mowx

She’s fighting back. Lots of areas who had dry air in place are now seeing snow and St. Louis is just starting to see flurries. Moisture is starting to get pulled in heavily from this storm and it will fight against the moisture. #mowx

Not the absolute bottom end, but 6 inches is generally on the lower side of snowfall predictions based on model guidance.

@MichaelGrahamSC Yeah it snows every year but not this widespread with high totals going from 8”-15”+ not including the ice

@PettusWX If this ends up being the case, snow and ice totals are probably going to noticeably increase. Not in huge margins but when models are pointing towards widespread areas of 12”+ of snow and an inch of ice any increase will be impactful.

(FYI THE FIRST PHOTO IS FROM 2019) I don’t usually post, however, this calls for some awareness. There’s been a lot of talk of a snowstorm, and with the totals I’ve seen possibly in the 8-10 inch range, I believe the impacts could be somewhat similar to the 2019 storm in Stl.

https://t.co/rd6L7y1Uds here is some info about the storm and its impacts. Recorded 1800 stranded motorists, and almost 900 crashes. I’m not trying to scare people, I just want everyone to know that travel will b extremely dangerous during this storm and you should avoid driving.

Confidence is increasing in accumulating snow across most of the area this weekend as a winter storm tracks across the region. Highest chances of significant snowfall are currently along/south of I-70, but even light snow will be able to cause travel impacts.

@odogball @NWSStLouis Very true on the just having to wait and see, if more moisture is pushed up towards areas like St. Louis, the extremely low temps will make for some interesting ratios. Possible 20+:1
