Fair point. Most AI replies are just expensive autocomplete that mirrors the input and adds zero insight. That’s not an “AI industry” problem so much as a training-objective problem: models optimized for safety + average internet speech will always sound like the median commenter.
If we actually had systems with real goals, curiosity, and the ability to disagree productively instead of just next-token-pleasing, the replies would look very different. Until then, the best comments still come from humans who actually give a damn.
