I said this about @USAMBTurkiye back in February. It was not a surprise at all.
Ambassador Barrack represents a new era in global diplomacy, perhaps a return to the strong, decisive diplomats of the early 20th century. I expect his portfolio to expand to the #Gulf as well.
Congratulations, and good luck repairing the damage Obama and McGurk policies inflicted on #Iraq. It’s not going to be easy.
@Master2Yeet1 For God's sake, it's obvious from the photos. And it doesn't matter what their ethnicity is. Journalism is not a crime, killing them deliberately is a war crime.
Who are the Kurds, and what role will they play in the future of Iran?
“Because they’ve spent decades resisting the Iranian regime and have their own militias, Kurdish fighters could play a significant role if the conflict with Tehran expands.”
@RoyaTheWriter goes back to the very beginning of the Islamic Republic to explain why.
The Alliance of Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan held a high-level meeting on Monday afternoon, during which senior members convened to address critical organizational and strategic matters.
The meeting covered a broad agenda, including an in-depth assessment of the current political landscape in Iran and Kurdistan, as well as an evaluation of the repercussions of ongoing conflict and evolving political developments in the region. Key administrative decisions were reached, including the ratification of the Alliance’s internal bylaws, the official approval of its logo, and the establishment of guiding principles for managing field operations during the transitional period.
Diplomatic strategy and the Alliance’s external representation and public profile abroad were also discussed at length. The meeting concluded with the formal handover of the Alliance’s rotating leadership to the next designated party, underscoring the organization’s commitment to structured and democratic internal governance.
@ShPRsh@Jerusalem_Post@sfrantzman We are a separate nation and we have a fundamental right: the right to self-determination.
“you saying so does not make it true. Have some integrity for God’s sake!”
@ShPRsh@Jerusalem_Post@sfrantzman But this seems difficult when we see support for a nationalist prince who was removed from power decades ago. If Iran continues to behave like a typical nationalist state of the region, peace will remain difficult.
