@GrimDeath86 @theaccolonn Yes the planet will survive, but we're going to drive many other animals to extinction (we already have eliminated some) through our toxic destruction of resources, habitats, and overconsumption. Our species is by far the most harmful to the entire planetary ecosystem.
@LilPeachAD @theaccolonn It sure seems like the Boomer generation has done a pretty thorough job of squeezing every last drop of profit they can into their own pockets, and pulling up the ladder behind them. The financial situation for each generation after them has gotten worse than the one before.
@theaccolonn Also, our species is currently at around 8 billion people right now, so there really isn't any need for everyone to squeeze out their own litter of kids. We need to focus on mediating climate catastrophe more than pushing young people to have children.
@theaccolonn I can't really blame them for not wanting to have kids. The climate is in shambles & will only get worse in the coming decades, the economy is shit for most, and at least here in the US where we don't have universal healthcare, paid parental leave, etc, kids are WAY too expensive
@clhubes@winksmcgee Oof… I don’t know how I survived having my 2nd when my 1st was 3yrs old. The ONE saving grace I had was that my 2nd figured out how to sleep thru the night within the first 4 months.
@hardakeep@_celia_bedelia_ I don’t see anything wrong with her. She may not be attractive to me, but there’s a ton of cis women who are not attractive to me either. I’m sure I could find & post plenty of pics of unattractive cis women for the sole purpose of picking on them, but I’m not an asshole.
@thegeest_ @SpankieV I’ve never, ever groomed minors. Have I done fucked up things over the course of my lifetime? Yes, but nothing involving kids. We all make mistakes, however most of us couldn’t fathom abusing kids.
@AlexArrelia Rowling was the first writer to present a world in which class and wealth mattered?! Is that person really that oblivious to how many other writers preceded her on the topic of class and wealth?
@KeyDecision1 I’m glad to hear that! I sure hope your relief lasts on the longer end of the spectrum for for treating. On a side note, it took months for me to stop looking for my glasses in a panic (especially first thing in the morning) thinking I’d lost them… after my lasik surgery 😂
@MeganSantucci@imaginmatrix I literally had to do this at work one day. Had to call my boss’s boss to get my hoodie from my desk & bring it to me in the bathroom. Tied it around my waist, drove home to change, then back to work. Would never wash it in the bathroom sink at work or anywhere else public.
@jkamaralli @sylverkara @FreyaManslayer I’m a cis woman and she is more than welcome to use the same facilities I do. Bigots (whether they’re cis men or cis women) are far more of a problem, not to mention more dangerous to my safety than trans people will ever be.
@itsmegandamnit @ManuelBruder71 @sylverkara I’m a cis woman and have had gender affirming surgery too (breast implants, as nursing my kids absolutely destroyed/deflated them) but I don’t get nearly as much shit for having surgery to help me look more feminine than my trans sisters do.
@Karnythia What’s he doing with that mallet? You don’t need that to split logs into firewood. If I (5ft 105lb lady) can split logs using just an axe, surely he can as well… but anyway, he sounds like an awfully self-centered guy looking for a subservient partner. No thanks.
@jeffeffina @Lux_Indulgences @ask_aubry I don’t even care what they think anymore. After spending the last 30+ years of essentially shedding half an internal organ for 7-10 days every month, I’m so over it all 😆
@smolbutfeisty@ask_aubry Just about the only thing worse is “losing” a tampon (somehow gets turned horizontally & wedged btwn cervix & vaginal wall) and using new ones for the rest of the period, then realizing that there’s one still there days later. Smells like death & burns like acid when removed.
@jeffeffina @Lux_Indulgences @ask_aubry The discomfort of removing a tampon too early (like when you know you won’t have another chance to for a long time so you go ahead with it) is AWFUL. You can feel the delicate tissue being torn a bit as the too-dry tampon is pulled out. I’m so ready for menopause at this point.
@ask_aubry I dunno about anyone else, but when I’m on my period, especially in the super heavy, soaking through tampons every few hours stage, the LAST thing on my mind is sexual gratification. I just don’t want to hemorrhage all over my clothes.
