I agree with Victor Davis Hanson, who argued on my Fox show that we should support an Iranian government in exile with Prince Reza Pahlavi as its leader.  And if the Iranian regime collapses, he would be a temporary leader during a transition period.

For the past few months, the United States has invested heavily in Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: removing his rivals, protecting him from elimination by Israel, shunning the opposition while praising him, sending senior U.S. officials to effectively anoint him as the country’s de facto leader, and offering him a highly favorable MoU. All in the hope that consolidating his power would produce the outcomes Washington wanted.

That investment has yielded little. Ghalibaf has failed to deliver. It is time to move on.

If the U.S. gives 300$B to the "reconstruction of the Islamic republic" it will be the worst offense the United States has committed against humanity in recent memory.

Refortifying and rebuilding the slaughterhouse would be even worse than Carter helping to bring Khomeini to Iran in the first place.
