Updated pinned post:
Losing Spencer was the most profoundly painful experience of my life. Yet even in the midst of grief's abyss, God's love made way for healing, new purpose & even joy.
So, how can I pray for you? Even if you're not a believer, I'm happy to pray.
You are loved.
1 year.
I don't know what eternity looks like, scriptures don't promise me that I'll see you again.
But they do tell me that God's love surpasses my understanding; though I'll miss you till my last day here, I pray that God's perfect love is now your home.
I love you, Spencer.
Dotty is 12 today!
I could write books about how special she is, about all the ways she softly loved & kept me grounded through all these years, and no amount of words would be enough to express my love for her.
12 years..
What an incredible blessing.
Happy birthday, babygirl.
this track is 2+ years old, but i only recently heard it, and this isn't my go-to genre but it's SUPREME. Something about the way it was crafted regulates my nervous system & makes my brain happy.
Art is not dead.
(my @youtubemusic algorithm is also supreme for recommending it)
@DejaRu22 It's fine, it was fine before and it's fine now. In the before, it does look like there was a pretty significant deviation of the septum, so maybe this was a septoplasty along with visual modifications.
Idk, but I do know that "aura" rarely has much to do with how a person looks.
@rough__sea I went plant-based because of this. Still, it's good to give some grace to yourself as well as others. For many, access to produce is limited due to geography or income level, and a plant-based diet requires a more deliberate forethought.
Small steps seem trivial, but they count.
So. Uh. I caught & released a spider this morning, because it looked like a wolf- or giant house spider & I'm trying to be better about not eliminating good spiders.. and then it dawned on me that it might have actually been a large Brown Recluse ππ«
The Midwest is TESTING. ME.
@seanfeucht the gift of tongues is real, but without sound Biblical teaching it's often taught to be a greater spiritual endowment one must possess. People are "coached" to make up sounds rather than have the gift. I've personally witnessed this outside of the U.S., in 2 different countries.
"it's okay to suck, it's not okay to skip" i repeat to myself as i reluctantly wash the dishes before bed, because that's how you keep promises to yourself (not skipping, even if _whatever_ sucks), and i'd promised my tomorrow's self that she wouldn't have to do tonight's dishes.
My little friend survived last night's storm π
I was like "surely those winds swept her away, poor thing". But no, she is a resilient little girl. Look at her looking back at me with those puppydog eyes, heavens..
(me being happy to see a spider was NOT on my bingo card, ever)
Hey is anyone knowledgeable about spiders?
I'll be honest, my first instinct is to β them if they're anywhere near, but I'm trying to be better - existing shouldn't be a π sentence.
This lil dude (dudette?) lives in our window, can anyone confirm if it's a tan jumping spider?
@CreateActionLtd Some people apparently keep them as pets (in enclosures) and their Jumpers feel comfortable enough to hang out on their hands sometimes.
This little girl is free, I want to keep it that way. She can live in the window and hunt other bugs to her tiny tubular heart's content :)
After some (embarrassing amount) research, I can confirm it IS a Tan Jumper & this one's a female: her "mustache" is white (it's orange on males), and she is quite docile/calm (males are more active)
She watches me cook & no longer hides when she sees me π₯Ή
