@zach_hazard@skinwalker_co No worries haha. Mine always treated me well right up until the day every gear turned into neutral lol. I'd say I regret selling it instead of fixing it except the car that replaced it was much *much* better thanks to the big boy job I had just gotten
@zach_hazard@skinwalker_co What year/engine was it? Cuz I had a 99 Grand Prix (same thing but Pontiac flavor) and the filter wasn't hard to get to at all on the 3800. Exhaust went up & over the transmission so it wasn't near the filter. Don't know anything about the 3400 or 3100 that earlier models had tho
@FREEFlREARMS@SilkOCE 100%. The designation from the laser should be lost IMMEDIATELY if tracking is lost or line of sight is broken. Being able to 1-man it in the IFV is hilariously broken, I just hate that people think flares working against it is the solution to the problem
@SixOneZil@SilkOCE (2/2) make laser a high level unlock, make locking difficult (like tracking a moving target would be), lose lock immediately if you lose line of sight (including poor tracking) this stops 1man IFV AA. For counters: ECM jammer could block lock, and smoke would work for ground lol
@SixOneZil@SilkOCE Laser guidance SHOULD be the best against air and ground, thats the entire point of it. If you can get the laser on a vehicle, that vehicle SHOULD get hit, full stop. Otherwise what is the point of even having it? But again, you can still balance it to make it fair (1/2)
@Christi21771092@SilkOCE I would be 100% in support of making it accelerate like it does irl. Low speed out of the launcher, then ~100ft down range main charge ignites and brings it up to top speed. But it was definitely slow in 3 and 4 compared to irl.
@JanOrszulik@SilkOCE You can balance those without making them pointless or completely unrealistic. Make getting a lock with the laser hard, and keeping it somewhat challenging. Maybe restrict what missile can lock with it, or reduce the effectiveness of their homing. As for RPGs: *cage*
@GhostGamingG The fix for this should just be the laser needing to maintain constant lock until impact. If line of sight is broken then they need to re-aquire. If they make flares effective even when you're being painted I'm gonnabe really upset. Would make painting targets entirely pointless
@NerosCinema@BattlefieldComm If flares/chaff counteract missiles locked onto a vehicle because its painted, then whats the point of painting targets? The idea is that you're locking onto the laser provided by the SOFLAM, not the heat/radar signature. Breaking line of sight with SOFLAM should be only counter
@NeutralNoName@Budderic @GravyRaven24 @El_Aphipybeal "Supported by" isn't accurate imo. "Employed by" is more like it. He was "hired" at the end of HL1 and plucked from time, then put back into play when he was needed in HL2. But as far as I know, no one knows the size, capabilities, or even motives behind the G-man and his org
@scringis@skinwalker_co@zach_hazard Well, it's a flathead straight 8. So pretty different haha. I was actually looking for a 79-83 Trans Am when I stumbled upon this. Didn't know the engine was seized when I bought it tho
@Babygravy9 Its been mentioned but Redline (2009) is a good counterpoint. But a good example as to why we don't see highly detailed hand-drawn animation anymore, this 4-sec clip from The Wind Rises (2013) took the animator 15 months to complete. How many studios have that level of resources?
@NaviGoBoom On one hand, no worries about some cheap sensor failing and leaving me stranded. On the other, this engine ran great a year ago before I swapped the trans, but after taking this video it wouldnt start without throttle. Hella rich now. I'll learn just how bad carbs are soon haha
@NaviGoBoom I feel like there is a good middle ground somewhere between the locked-down computer-controlled engines w/ 1 million sensors we have now and dumb boat anchors w/ carburetors, but I decided to go full boat anchor to experience the far end of that spectrum lol.
