Judea and Samaria are unrelated. Gaza was not occupied, started a war, Israel fought that war and lost legitimacy even before all the hostages resurned.

Most other countries in the west became critical of the war at that same time or earlier.

They exist purely for deterrence and presumably the MAD doctrine (Samson option).
