Ndhlovu rallies Mat South Zanu PF structures for grassroots mobilisation

ESIGODINI — Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial chairman, Hon Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu, has called on party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation in their wards and cells while engaging Zimbabweans in the diaspora to promote national development.

Addressing the Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Inter-District Conference at Anthems N/C Garden in Esigodini this afternoon, Hon Ndhlovu urged party members to take the party’s programmes to the grassroots and engage relatives living abroad, particularly in South Africa, with factual information on developments taking place in Zimbabwe.

He challenged members to ensure that their political work contributes to nation-building, while urging party structures to remain responsive to the needs of the people.

“We must go and work for Zanu PF in our wards and cells. We must engage our relatives in the diaspora and tell them about what is happening in the country. Let us speak about things that build our nation,” he said.

Hon Ndhlovu commended Matabeleland South for supporting the Government’s Vision 2030 agenda, which he said reflected the province’s commitment to the national development trajectory and the party’s programmes.

He also described Zanu PF as a “colossal party”, echoing President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s description of the ruling party.

The Provincial chairman also spoke about the recent visit to Matabeleland South by Zanu PF National Secretary-General, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, highlighting its importance in strengthening party structures and organisational processes.

Hon Ndhlovu commended party members for standing firm on issues they believed in, saying Matabeleland South had emerged stronger from the engagements.

He also expressed appreciation to President Mnangagwa and Government for selecting Matabeleland South to host the 2026 Independence celebrations.

He said the preparations and associated projects had left a significant development footprint in the province & expressed optimism that the infrastructure and other developments would continue benefiting communities.

The chairman said Zanu PF remained a party that worked among the people, citing the KCD Mohadi Youth Sports Tournament in Beitbridge as one of the initiatives bringing young people together while promoting patriotism, discipline & responsible citizenship.

He urged the Youth League to take the lead in preparations for the forthcoming games, with the provincial finals scheduled for Maphisa in November.

Hon Ndhlovu said the province must continue assessing the performance of its Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC), Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), District Coordinating Committees (DCCs), party wings and constituencies in line with the party constitution.

He said the province had previously agreed that its top-five provincial leadership, district structures, wings & Members of Parliament should engage constituencies and listen to concerns from the grassroots.

He urged delegates to ensure that resolutions adopted at the conference were practical and addressed the concerns of communities.

“Some resolutions are fit to be submitted to the National Conference for consideration, but there are some that are routine and specific to our Province. Those ones simply require us resolve to implement them.” he said.

Hon Ndhlovu also warned against individuals who misuse the names of senior party leaders to unlawfully interfere with mining operations and dispossess legitimate mining claim owners.

He urged members who encounter such cases to approach the Minister of State for Matabeleland South, Hon Albert Nguluvhe, and other relevant authorities.

The chairman called for unity within the province, saying party members had a responsibility to preserve the legacy inherited from the liberation struggle.
