@CPaupini @AcademicChatter Yes, emphasis on the signed. In many cases they offer wonders, and it turns out the person offering stuff is not the person in charge, so be careful. This is true in and out of academia. Read the “fine print.”

@AcademicChatter Don’t give up! First time I applied I was not accepted on a funded program. A professor told me, “you are worthy of a funded program, reapply next year, don’t go into debt.” I followed his advice. Worked for a year, reapplied, got accepted fully funded and with a healthy stipend.

@avidnote @OpenAcademics @AcademicChatter I was told. “You need to do that research. It should take you another 4-6 years”. I was on yr 4.5 of my PhD and my lab was out of funding. I was forced to quit. I’m now doing an EdD, to get into a position where I can reduce the number of students facing similar situations.

On this #IWD2021 want to remember how 2 years ago I used storytelling as a tool to empower #LatinX students. I told my story, then I #choosetochallenge them to tell theirs. Their stories provided a catharsis that allowed them to visualize future goals. #SDG5 #GenerationEquality

@theodore_beza @DVinsard DEI is so much more than race. It’s also about socioeconomic background, different abilities, different cultures not only from other countries but in country as well (rural vs city). True DEI is about justice for ALL.
