However, getting Scott Bartlett in as manager is a good move (not least because today he was dressed like a German at a wedding in the dugout). If he gets the resources to build the squad he wants, and stays loyal to the club, then I’m hopeful for a better one next season
So the season started with a Parkrun PB en route to Worthing, and ends with a replacement Parkrun PB en route back to Bath for our final game in the NLS for at least a season, and the last game under this floodlight. Can’t say I’ll be too sad if a lot of this squad isn’t retained
Personal highlights were that Tillson winner at Hampton, and not getting relegated on my wedding day.
Personal lowlights were getting battered 4-0 on my stag do, and that game at Chippenham when it all started to unravel
Well then. Two poor sides, both going down. Chippenham were better, no question. This is not a great City side, and we are where we are for a reason. But the last game I watch as an unmarried man, involving a 90+4 min winner against local rivals, was lovely
Chippenham (H). The rail replacement bus didn’t turn up, so a lovely lady and her sister gave us a lift to Yeovil Junction and we made the train with 2 minutes to spare.
Anyway, we’ve had it and we’re going down, but let’s at least drag them down with us eh @BathCity_FC
Today’s exertions were a train to Bodmin Parkway, and biking to Wadebridge via the hills of Lanhydrock, and the Camel trail, for Wadebridge Town 1-3 Wendron United. What a ground, and what a way to get to a game
Spurs hit the bar 3 times and have a penalty saved. Backs to the wall stuff from Lydeard, couldn’t see them holding on for the win, but fair play to them!
Newton Abbot Spurs v Bishop’s Lydeard.
Is it low-scoring for the Peninsula League so far? Yes
Is it still an enthralling game? Well 2nd bottom are 1-0 up at 4th, so yes
Am I regretting not going to Tonbridge? Absolutely not
Am I regretting not bringing my shades? Absolutely yes
Thankfully that was far from a 0-0 😂 hard to emulate the reverse fixture, but 5-2 was still very good entertainment! Glorious sunset sky on the ride home too
Couldn’t face a trip up to Bath today if I’m being honest. So instead got on the bike to Bridport v Bovey Tracey in the Peninsula East. 1st v 2nd, Bovey 5 behind with 4 games in hand, but only lost 1 league game all season… 7-6 against Bridport. Be fuming if this ends 0-0 😂
Enfield Town (A) via a night in a £35 capsule pod, and Fulham Palace Parkrun. Point was a fair result. Been a fun-ish 22 hours in the capital, but leaving feeling somewhat deflated about our survival chances
Spent my stag do watching us lose 4-0 at home in a relegation 6 pointer.
The hangover and beer fear isn’t actually that bad today; waking up and remembering this happened is the worst thing (along with my paltry crossbar challenge attempt)
Enfield away next weekend is huge
Bath postponed yet again, so instead a first trip to the Mem since that wonderful December day in 2014 (with 7 Italians in tow this time). Great game, think Rovers will be fine in that battle towards the bottom of L2
@GWRHelp Thank you for your response. So I guess the answer to my original question is no- so my options are a) take the Salisbury route home at no extra cost, with 2 replacement buses, taking nearly 2hrs more than usual, or b) pay £12.80 extra via Exeter to avoid replacement buses?
@GWRHelp hi, I’m booking a return from Crewkerne-Bath Spa, outward Fri 06/02, return Sat 7th.
Due to engineering works, the app suggests return via Exeter, but when I select this ticket, it says via Salisbury. Just to check, if I travel via Exeter, is my ticket still valid? TIA
Final night of this Italian trip spent at Hellas Verona 1-3 Udinese. Some beautifully taken goals from the away side, although they probably should have had more
