@TechCharts Has there been any back testing to see if a pattern objective can be used as another breakout point with a stop to re-enter a trade for the 2x target?
Peter do you manage position size any differently when you take a pair trade? Asking because I’m conscious of the fact that we only capture half the move when long one asset, short one asset 50/50 and not trading the actual ratio . Double normal position size is the same portfolio risk as a regular trade right?
@alojoh@stevenmarkryan 1. Putting all your eggs in one basket isn’t investing, it’s gambling. I own TSLA shares and a Tesla model Y, but let’s not get carried away and actually do what SMR suggests.
Good on you Peter, that’s inspiring. I met my American partner 15 years ago and played pickleball for the first time, it’s a great game to mix all different age and skill groups together. There are so many analogies to trading and probabilistic thinking all around us, appreciate all your thoughts on them.
@agent_pear@hufhaus9 What's your opinion on using TA for pair trading, are the patterns statistically similar to fail or succeed as traditional pairs vs usd?
Thanks for sharing Aksel and I'm happy to have something I discovered myself validated! I'm sure you have seen it all, sometimes there will be a head and shoulders pattern on one pair chart and an inverted head and shoulders on another, then an ascending triangle or rectangle on another for the same base ticker for multiple pairs. It's also helpful at minimum to compare say gold miners with gold, oil companies with oil, uranium companies with uranium, alt coins with btc etc etc
@tradingview can we please get a feature added to quickly snap to letters of the alphabet in a watch list? A small alphabet displayed on the side like the iPhone contacts list would be perfect!
@pear_protocol I created a Pear Protocol account via email today, deposited USDC to the wallet address, funds are showing and I can trade using GMX . I cannot find a way to withdraw though, or deposit it to the Hyperliquid account as the transaction will not go through. Can anyone advise?
@PeterLBrandt Peter have you ever posted about time management techniques in trading? Would love to hear about how much time and energy you devote to scanning assets for new early TA setups developing like this, both for investments you hold and new entries.
