In track and field, there is such a thing as "strong enough." It stops being about raw numbers and becomes more about how well you can control your body and then how quickly you can move it. Be a MASTER of your own body. https://t.co/05dNzih2GH
Petition for the Super Bowl to be at 4p eastern time. This makes it 1p pacific, and before midnight for Europe where the NFL is trying to grow a fan base. Then, us easterners that work on Monday mornings aren’t riding the struggle bus from staying up too late on Sunday.
Awesome opportunity to network and learn with great people.
Full day event with lunch AND dinner included.

What about when they decided that there would be 1 world record (all conditions) per event instead of 2 where applicable? Most events are fundamentally different between indoors and outdoors. Shot put, by the way, is one of them.
“Why does track and field not have more fans?”
This. This is why. Because every time someone does something cool, @WorldAthletics finds a way to mess it up. People won’t become fans of a sport with rules they don’t understand. Can’t say I blame them 🤷🏻♀️

For every freak out there who sprints fast without lifting heavy, there’s a Devon Allen who has never weighed more during track than he did this season and had the season of his life.
There isn’t a hard and fast rule.
We had four new all-time marks set on Friday night, including a new women’s 400 meter hurdles record

If positive relationships are scary because they’re too close to inappropriate relationships, we have no business working together anyway. It remains in my coaching philosophy.
I was once advised not to say in interviews that building a relationship with my athletes was a major tenet of my philosophy because it sounded like I’d develop an inappropriate relationship with them.
If you foam roll often enough and with the proper intent, it should feel like a waste of time.
Sure, there still may be days after a hard session where soreness makes it uncomfortable, but the day-to-day will feel mundane.
This is when you know your soft tissue care is working!
Thanks for playing along. I wrote a little thread to go along with this.
So if you’re interested in sprint technique, as well as how, when & why we should tweak it — read along.
First off — the ‘real’ one is #2, although I prefer #3.
Being a leader means making changes from the top down. The “intern culture” in strength and conditioning sickens me. Interns’ primary job is to learn and be on the floor coaching. It is not doing menial tasks the paid coaches don’t want to do.
It ACTUALLY got converted because indoor nationals is on a flat track this year (in years it’s on a bank, flat times get converted to bank) but this is wayyyy funnier 😂
