Think the current right wing thatโs ruling this party is pushing us to make a choice. I also think we can no longer just be good citizens that vote and hope activists stop this corruption but that we need to actively support activists. #erg#taxavoidance#BorisHasFailedTheNation.
The PPE disaster was one of the most galling examples of corruption and waste in British political history.
Not only did we funnel billions in contracts to Tory donors, paying way over the odds, a lot of the equipment was faulty and arrived too late.
A national disgrace.
Even a small number of messages to advertisers can sometimes make a big difference.
And the success of our allies around the world, such as @SleepingGiants@Slpng_Giants_PT & @Slpng_Giants_Fr is another testament to the power of this type of campaigning: https://t.co/7BVHDr0INJ
You seem to spend a great deal of time tweeting @RMTunion
What is it about hardworking trade unionists, people that are prepared to spend their time fighting for better conditions for all workers, that frightens you so much?
There's a word for the "VIP lane" the government opened during the pandemic, enabling friends and political allies to profiteer from a national emergency by supplying substandard equipment at greatly inflated prices.
Corruption.
No aspect of nursing school prepared me on how to deal with racism from patients. As a Black nurse who deeply cares about my patients, I will never understand how a patient could show me so much hate while I'm doing my best to save their life. Nothing prepares you for this.
More that emerges on handling of pandemic, worse it gets. Failure to apply precautionary principle given an uncertain threat to life; state power used to corruptly award contracts, fleecing taxpayers; support schemes riddled with waste/fraud, again to detriment of public purse.
My contract at work isn't getting renewed (which isn't a problem).
But I found out my boss is getting backhanders from a recruitment agency for every person he hires from them.
Do I whistleblow?
@kelvmackenzie The 5.3 million figure is not true. So you are displaying the same regard for truth and integrity that you showed in your sewer of a career then.
@DavidSteadson The NHS appears to have been told to dismiss long covid because to address it would collapse the system. Well, it collapsed anyway but with hundreds of thousands hurt by that negligence. Remember, we are many and numbers really do matter. Eventually we succeed, it's just when. 2/
School is important? Yup. But they just used it as an excuse. They lied to the Swedish people. They lied to the world. And the world lapped it up.
@Sweden doesn't care.
@SwedishPM doesn't care.
@socialstyrelsen doesn't care.
@Folkhalsomynd doesn't care.
And the children suffer.
@PaulGoodmanCH Living in one of those areas where there actually is quite a lot of new building, this conclusion seems right to me. Nearly everyone objects, regardless.
Though once the new houses go up, people tend to stop grumbling. Which possibly offers hope in the long run.
