📣Calling All Voices in Canadian Nursing: Your Seat at the Table is Waiting.
Nursing in Canada is at a crossroads, and we don’t just need more hands—we need your voice, your ideas, and your leadership.
Whether you’re providing care at the bedside, studying for your NCLEX, or leading a national policy shift, you are part of something bigger. The CNA National Conference is the platform where we stop talking about the "future of healthcare" and start building it together.
🌟WE WANT YOU! Why You? (Yes, You!)
We are looking for a diverse range of perspectives to transform our health systems:
●Nursing Students: You are the fresh eyes and the future—share your "big ideas" and help us see what’s next.
●Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs): Your global experience is a superpower. Help us integrate world-class perspectives into Canadian care.
●Licensed & Registered Practical Nurses (LPNs & RPNs): You are the backbone of clinical excellence. We want to see your professional practice initiatives in action.
●Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs): Mental health is health. Share your specialized expertise and help us lead on the national stage.
●Registered Nurses (RNs): From research to policy, show us how your work is moving the needle on patient safety and health system transformation.
●Nurse Practitioners (NPs): Show us how your clinical expertise is expanding access and innovation in nursing-led models of care.
🔬What We’re Looking For:
We want to hear about your Quality Improvement projects, Technology implementations, Community health interventions, Nurse-led and Team-based models of care, and even those "outside the box" Calls to Action.

Nurses deserve to work in environments free from violence.
That’s why today, CNA is proud to support Bill S-233, legislation that strengthens protections for health-care professionals—especially nurses—so they can provide care safely.
Nurses are essential to the health of our communities, and violence in the workplace affects not only the nursing profession but the quality and continuity of care for patients and families. If passed, this bill would be a meaningful step toward addressing the violence and trauma nurses too often face in the course of their work.
Ensuring the safety of health-care professionals is a responsibility we all share. CNA welcomes continued collaboration across all parties to make the safety of nurses and other health-care workers a policy priority.

The Health Minister calling nurse layoffs in North Bay “appropriate” is a slap in the face to every frontline worker keeping our system afloat.
Cutting nurses is not fiscal responsibility - it’s a choice that makes care worse & wait times longer. #onpoli

@Avis_Favaro@Thetrilliumca Important information if you have someone in Long-term care homes. Hands on care is so important for seniors in these settings. Hours of care make a difference
As a RN who got her 4 year BSN college degree,(Bachelor of Science in Nursing,) by working 12 hr shifts during the summers at the Green Giant Factory to pay my way through college, I am beyond angry and disgusted that Trump’s administration is now reclassifying to say nursing is not a professional degree. 😡 I gave years of compassionate and competent care to my patients as a “professional RN.”

Today’s court ruling is what we’ve been warning about for months: Trump is unlawfully using the military to terrorize Americans, including kids and hardworking immigrants — many of whom have contributed to this country and are part of American families.
CNA met with Lesa Semmler, Minister of Health and Social Services for the Northwest Territories, and her team to highlight our advocacy for workforce optimization and retention in the territory, and to explore opportunities for collaboration as part of our ongoing engagement to work together to address challenges faced by the nursing workforce and health systems.
Hooboy. Has America run out of actual health practitioners with demonstrated experience improving public health outcomes?
Or maybe it is just ones willing to betray the tenets and beneficiaries of public health that Trump and RFK Jr want them to do. https://t.co/3PhCdQHWkk

The paradox of health care spending:
a $400 air conditioner can help prevent a $15,000 hospital admission for heart failure or heat stroke in the summer.
According to the Financial Accountability Office, Doug Ford gov with Sylvia Jones will cut $21B from public healthcare by 2027-2028 while Ontario will be short 33,200 nurses & 55,853 PSWs by 2032—a projection the Ford gov tried to hide from Ontarians.
