@Prinz3D_@nard_nigeria You probably lack critical thinking skills, if you don't understand something, kindly ask. Stop typing rubbish like a child. I come in peace
I can remember the day vividly like yesterday.
I was covering for someone at a facility on the island in Lagos.
It's one of those small but super classy hospitals, each bed with it's own monitor
So I was told to come commence transfusion for a child that was recently brought in sick.
My Nigeria brain was contemplating the huge task of how I would push in about blood in aliquots of 2mls over the next 3 hours.
It's backbreaking work.
It's how I was trained.
My mind did not know another way existed.
So I made the chart, hanged the blood and requested for a nurse to help me in charting.
Then the nurse asked me what I was doing?
I told her transfusion the patients
She laughed out loud said they don't do aliquots here.
She then pointed to a functioning infusion pump that has been there all along.
Shame wear me agbada but I took it like a man.
I asked her how to use it, she smirked but eventually did so. I told her thank you but in my mind I wanted to give her an iko for laughing at me 😭😭😭
I set the parameters and in 3 hours, the baby had received the right amount of blood with zero stress on my part.
It's God that will punish our politicians.
@essy_aj@popoolaadaniel UBTH in Benin has Ambulance, I'm sure most teaching hospitals in Nigeria have too, the problem is, the people are not aware, nobody knows the number to call in case of an emergency. That's failure on the part of the government
