I recently had the privilege of talking with @modeshift about our work @BullStreetSC. I’m proud of what @Robinson_Eng has accomplished in daylighting and rehabilitating a long-forgotten half-mile of Smith Branch! https://t.co/nmZivfmE2N
This is starting to seem normal, but it really isn’t. The tide peaked at 8.14’ MLLW (major flood) last night. Since 1921, there have only been 41 tides that exceeded 8’, and 27 of them (66%) have occurred since 2015 (source: @NWSCharlestonSC) #flooding#sealevelrise#chswx
Cynicism: We have a problem, but they don't want to solve it
Pessimism: We have a problem, but we can't solve it
Optimism: We have a problem, and we can solve it
Responsibility: We have a problem. Can I help solve it?
Initiative: We have a problem. Here's how I'm solving it
This is the newspaper I held up this morning at the NRA Prayer Breakfast. It is yesterday’s front page of @UvaldeNews with the faces of the the children & teachers. We prayed for each of them by name… and we were removed from the prayer meeting by police.
“We lose our health - and create profitable diseases and dependencies - by failing to see the direct connections between living and eating, eating and working, working and loving.”

With the office as the center of society, we are workers first, humans second.
What does it look like for the home to be the center of society, placing the fullness of our humanity first, with work stemming from there?
Inside the Mason Building is a huge room that sits atop 20,000 gallons of water. The @CEEatGT Hydraulics Lab is a maze of pipes, flumes and tanks used to study fluid dynamics. 9,000 gallons can flow every minute (the same as 3,000 🚽 flushing at once) 🌊

This morning's tide in Charleston Harbor topped at 7.70' MLLW, which @NWSCharlestonSC classifies as a moderate tidal flood. It's the first tidal flood of 2022 (we had 45 in 2021). #chswx#flooding#sealevelrise
