noted in this morning's Crystal Ball -- I'll withhold judgment until all votes are in, but when the R share of the two-party vote is below 50 in CA top-two primaries, they don't win
@williamjordann Turnout is going to be higher than 2018, ~40% vs 37.5% but it does seem like the electorate composition is going to be close to 2018. Also, I learned today that CA has 4 million more reg voters than in 2018 which surprised me
If your candidate for governor didn’t win the GOP nomination tonight, you are welcome here. Iowans deserve a leader who lives in Iowa, who has worked for Iowans rather than for insiders, and someone that is committed to serving Iowa families. We already have more GOP donors than the GOP nominee. Join us. All Iowans - Democrats, Republicans and independents - are all welcome.
Many things are true:
1. Our party brand sucks.
2. Their party brand is worse.
3. We are likely to have a successful midterm.
4. A successful midterm will not be evidence that we’ve fixed 1.
5. The reasons for 1 are manifold.
6. A better economic brand is top of the 5 list.
The millennial craft movement vastly improved American gastronomy and I refuse to let zoomers with no cultural memory of the bland garbage we ate and drank 20 years ago meme me into thinking it is cringe.
this is why i get annoyed when people are like "the key to victory is a clearly articulated vision". Sounds nice, doesn't work.
the key to victory is an ambiguously articulated vision! People then fill in the parts they like for themselves
hope and change!
Now more than ever, we need a governor who deeply understands what’s at stake for reproductive health care access in California and has a proven track record of fighting for patients and providers.
PPAC is proud to endorse @XavierBecerra & will help ensure he is elected in Nov.
@ryxcommar@buccocapital It's never not funny to me that the Vanguard International Fund is called VXUS. Maybe it's to trick people into buying it who never would lol
@SpecialPuppy1 I have a pet theory that the increase in real wages over the last decade means people are literally paying more in taxes than they did before and it feels like a lot, even though their real income has grown quite a bit.
From a distance, thinking @XavierBecerra is the no-drama choice for California Democrats for Governor. Already vetted, thoroughly experienced, lifelong Californian, compelling life story.
