Te Whanganui-ā-Tara. Friendly neighbourhood privacy enthusiast. This account is for the tweets I wouldn’t mind my Mum seeing. Tweets ≠ employer’s views #NZPORT
@Thoughtfulnz Sorry to be a dingus, David, but could you expand on what this is telling you? Is it that perhaps people will Google if they have a positive result, and therefore this might be more accurate data than self-reporting through official channels?
@jwjlacy@andrewtychen@bmwhocking@greaterwgtn They really are. Your platform could be better used for ensuring the systems, tools, and processes available adequately support individuals to handle personal information appropriately. Just my reckons though.
Kia ora friends. Some of you will know that I’m the convener of the Wellington chapter of the Aotearoa New Zealand Privacy Officers’ Round Table. I’m moving to another role from the end of this month, and I’m exited to see where this community of practice will go from here.
@andrewtychen@jwjlacy@bmwhocking@greaterwgtn 😊 I feel very strongly about the idea that a breach caused by accident by an individual is not that individual’s breach- it belongs to the agency they’re working for. Having said that, I hope everyone who can, and wants to, is having great takeaways tonight 💖
@andrewtychen@jwjlacy@bmwhocking@greaterwgtn They’d need to triage first to make sure it’s notifiable, as you know. I don’t know if it’s heaps cool to call them out on social media. That can sometimes compound the harm caused by the initial error 🤷♀️
@jwjlacy@andrewtychen I’ve dealt with exactly this in a previous role as Chief Privacy Officer for local government. You report it, assess harm, respond appropriately, learn from it and move forward.
