📢JUNETEENTH in DC📢On Wednesday, June 19th, ONE DC will be hosting a Juneteenth Community Festival to commemorate & learn about Juneteenth. There will be live performances, vendors & pop-up shops, food & drinks, face painting & ice cream (free for the first 50) for kids.
This year, ONE DC is partnering with @ServeYourCityDC@PACAdmv and @ClaudiaJonesEdu to commemorate Emancipation Day with a community learning event led by historian Bill Fletcher Jr. We will be learning about the Palestinian struggle and its connection to Black struggle in the US
of permanent affordable housing. It will be a multi-family community with three and four bedroom units.

This Women's History Month, we honor the tenant leaders of Heritage at Shaw/LWII, all Black women who were so principled and disciplined that they fought for affordability to the T. Legacy mattered more than profit/money...
Because we organized, we got the city to back us in one of the first DOPA notices the city has issued in years. That political move allowed this developer (pictured in third slide) to come in and tell the tenants that they are committed to realizing tenants' vision...
