Not surprising, but still disappointing.
Conservative candidate @EllisBRoss has decided not to attend the first debate in Skeena—Bulkley Valley.
He’s applying for the job of MP for a riding the size of Germany, yet doesn’t think he needs to show up for the job interview.
I made a mistake earlier today that I’d like to clarify. I said Conservative Sheldon Clare amplified an image that shows B.C. as a “US protectorate." That was, in fact, his colleague David Williams. Sheldon Clare was the Conservative who last week said municipal representatives need “hanging." Apologies for the mixup.
Avi Lewis: "The government is fast-tracking corporate Canada's wish list and calling it a plan to fight a trade war. We are letting corporate lobbyists write our laws, and they have been sidelining everything from environmental protection to Indigenous rights to food safety to workers' rights."
The NDP getting around 26% in Beaches East York tonight is a very strong result.
Not only is it more than triple 2025, it's the NDP's best result in the riding since 2015
Generally not a fan of “we lost but somehow it’s a win” but Shannon Devine is on track to have the best result for the NDP in BEY since 2015 in a significantly worse national environment
A woman asked for an election sign to be placed on her lawn and two men (one, a @OntLiberal candidate) removed it and replaced it.
So—just to confirm—the @TorontoStar and @OntLiberal party believe women shouldn’t be allowed to display lawn signs for their preferred candidate?
Join the movement to turn Toronto’s Beaches—East York orange! 🍊
Come out to our byelection campaign launch for a chance to meet candidate Shannon Devine, NDP Leader @avilewis, and other special guests like former City Councillor Janet Davis.
We’ll also share organizing tools and other information about how you can get involved.

I agree with Ben. This is about Minister Dunlop and a government that keeps sidestepping accountability.
Ontarians elected Minister Dunlop, not her staff, to answer to the people. First Nations leaders are calling for a public inquiry into this government's communication and slow evacuations. Families I met in Thunder Bay still can't get clear answers about what comes next. Those are the questions the Minister couldn't sit through.
Let's stay focused on holding Minister Dunlop and the Ford government to account for what's unfolding up north. Everything else is a distraction.
Starting to feel peckish at work should I
A. Get a snack from the caf using my own grown up money
Or
B. Charge my riding association $1,212 for lobster
