On this International Day of UN Peacekeepers, we honour her service 🇺🇳
#WATCH | Delhi | Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan says, "The capital expenditure has shown dramatic growth in the last decade from Rs 4.26 lakh crores in 2014-15 to Rs 15.53 lakh crores in 2025-26...If we look at a subset of projects that were personally reviewed by the Prime Minister at the apex of the system, 382 of the most complex or difficult projects have been reviewed by the Prime Minister in the 50 meetings. These involved 637 contractual packages or sections. 3,187 issues were raised by the agencies, of which 2,958 have been resolved up to now...In a sense, one issue has been resolved for every working day..."
Here are glimpses from the Grand International Exposition of Sacred Piprahwa Relics in Delhi. I call upon all those passionate about culture and Buddhism to come to this Exposition.
At yesterday’s banquet dinner hosted by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, a wonderful rendition of Vande Mataram was sung by Ethiopian singers. It was a deeply moving moment, that too at a time when we are marking 150 years of Vande Mataram.
@AbiyAhmedAli
This man was picked by Abu Bakr al Baghdadi to run al-Qaeda's Syria branch after the civil war broke out. He set up Jabhat al Nusra, Qaeda's unit in Syria, later split from Baghdadi, captured Idlib, renamed his jihadist outfit (several times), distanced himself from Isis, worked as a Turkish proxy and eventually captured Damascus, defeating an army that was badly damaged by repeated Israeli bombing. He had a $10 mn bounty on his head, issued by the US State Department, until a year ago. He's now in the White House.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the blazer-wearing, western-friendly jihadist, Abu Mohammed al-Golani aka Ahmed al Sharaa.
Perfect one from @johnstanly to decipher the West Asian geopolitics in general and Israel-Palestinian conundrum in particular. The transformation of the "Arab-Israel" problem into the "Israel-Palestine" underscores the dictum of Morgenthau that national interests reign supreme.
Ever heard of a clinic that doesn’t treat people but broken toilets?
In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, when 190 toilets built under the Swachh Bharat Mission were found broken, unused or abandoned, most stayed silent.
But Mukhiya Babita Kumari saw what others missed, a broken toilet doesn’t just affect health, it steals dignity, especially from women.
So she started the Toilet Clinic in Bishanpur Baghnagari. It's the first of its kind in the state, where trained local women repair damaged toilets, restore sanitation and rebuild self-respect.
Tiles, taps, pipes — all fixed affordably by women masons and sanitation workers from local self-help groups.
No middlemen. No shame. Just clean, safe spaces rebuilt with pride.
Supported by Jeevika, UNICEF and the district sanitation committee, the clinic has already revived over 15 toilets and helped families move away from open defecation.
Because fixing a toilet is not just about plumbing. It is about public health. It is about empowerment. It is about dignity.

The first lesson about the international system is that there is not system at all. The liberal, rules-based order is neither liberal nor orderly. The world is an anarchic place. The more powerful you are the greater your chances of survival are.
The Sacred Ensembles of the Hoysalas are a group of exquisitely carved 12th-13th century temples located in Belur, Halebidu and Somanathapura in Karnataka. Built under the patronage of the Hoysala dynasty, these temples are celebrated for their intricate stone carvings and a distinctive architectural style that blends stellate shaped temple plan with ornate sculptural detail.
Dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva, these temples are not only places of worship but also masterpieces of artistic expression, depicting scenes from epics, daily life and mythological motifs.
At Halebidu, the Hoysalesvara Temple (1121 CE) honors King Vishnuvardhana and features twin shrines, a dance hall, and over 400 carvings from Shaiva and Vaishnava traditions.
In Belur, the Chennakeshava Temple (1117 CE), also built by Vishnuvardhana, is known for its star-shaped layout, detailed friezes, and the famous Madanika bracket figures. (1/2)
At Somanathapura, the Keshava Temple (1268 CE), built by Somanatha Dandanayaka, is a trikuta (three-shrine) temple dedicated to Vishnu in his forms as Keshava, Venugopala, and Janardana. The temple stands on a raised platform and is admired for its finely carved walls, ceilings, and sculptures.
It won't be exaggeration if the walls of these three highly ornate temples are titled as poetry etched in stone.
Together, these temples represent the pinnacle of Indian art and devotion, and were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of their Outstanding Universal Values having immense architectural and artistic significance.

India sticks to the new rules of the game. If there are terror attacks, there will be responses— and each time, the scope and scale of the response will be greater.

John McCain and I didn’t always agree, but he understood that some values transcended parties. He knew that if we got in the habit of bending the truth to suit political expediency or party orthodoxy, our democracy will not work.
John McCain had character. That’s what I think about so much these days because it’s so different from what we see out of the Republican nominee.
Liz Cheney, a Republican and former congresswoman from Wyoming, campaigned with Kamala Harris in Wisconsin, rejecting Donald Trump. See more: https://t.co/BGOFpLH4sc
