@littlebayschool My daughter is coming up on 2 years, frequently snotty and can't blow her nose. How does one teach a kid how to blow their nose? And at what age isnit appropriate? It's something I've been pondering lately.
@tomcoppens_ Yes, I do think they lose value because of the recovery needed after a hard session of oly lifts. For 1500m probably worth doing, anything longer I don't think they are necessary.
If the goal is overall health, then yes they are worth it.
I am so glad I don't fly often enough that I need to optimise airport time. The below take is absolutely insane to me. I'd much rather arrive in plenty of time and enjoy a coffee / read / play with my daughter while waiting to board.
Can't stop thinking about this.
My strategy, assuming I'm alone: run ~5km at race effort (adrenaline is a hell of a drug), ideally uphill, and then find a big tree or a cave.
If I was with my wife and daughter we'd be fucked.
@inaki_delaparra@Garmin The warranty is 2 years, right?
3.5yrs is on the lower end of what most people get out of their garmins but you are prob in the top 0.5% of users given your training vol. So while not ideal for you, they don't owe you anything.
My Feñix 6 is 4.5 years now, still going strong.
@blkkenyb I've got the Feñix 6 and strongly considering the 8. Interested to hear your review after a month. Reviews at launch were hit & miss, mostly around SW bugs. I'd imagine it is stable at this point.
@ishdo79@fluidathletics Super shoes. Everyone can handle more frequent intense workouts while still recovering.
Coaching and sports science has improved across the board.
Bicarb also a factor esp in 800m & 1500m / mile.
Contrary to what many would have you believe, it's not all about doping.
@ishdo79@fluidathletics It's because all the WRs in track were set by super talented individuals who were also juiced to the gills. Doping is still happening but it's not as blatant. Micro-dosing etc. And the talent level has to be insane to even be in the ballpark.
Kipchoge and it's not even close.
The number of true elite distance runners that have attempted 100mi is close to zero. Show me someone with a sub 2:10 marathon who has gone for the 100mi record.
What’s the more impressive running feat?
100mile world record: 10hr 51min 39 seconds
Or
Kipchoge running a marathon under 2 hours: 1hr 59 min 40 seconds
