Fire cracker industry is a scandal of India and the Indian population is so shameless that they dont even care the unprecedented level of regular deaths of underpaid poor workers while making products of their celebrations and festivals.

Every week one or more accidents take lives of mostly Dalits minor children and women who are the core Labour group in this sector across India.

But there is little or no data on the Labour force involved in this high profit margin industry. As it is informal, moreover many of them are illegal, and so the families of the victim hardly gets any compensation.

Today there is no specific labour reporting section in legacy media houses. Those little papers that report on Labour related issues flagged as Maoist sympathiser or China Agent.

If they protest, high official police babus claim that it is funded by Pakistan.

बांग्ला में आज भी तोड़ने के अर्थ में ‘भाँगना’ ही बोला जाता। अंगिका जैसी भाषा में भी इसके अवशेष हम देख पाते हैं, आदमी या किसी काम के बिगड़ जाने या बर्बाद हो जाने के अर्थों में “भँगठना” प्रयुक्त होता।
