Sundae Labs is proud to have worked on Acropolis!
With our contribution over the last 9 months, Acropolis was able to reach a key threshold of usefulness. Acropolis right now makes a lot of sense as a framework to build customizable data pipelines integrating with the Cardano node-to-node protocols.
Case in point:
- We've been able to use it as the foundation for a ground up rewrite of the "Scooper" software run by each of the sundae scoopers to execute orders on the sundae protocol.
- Our team has helped pilot a proof of concept built with acropolis for those running midnight nodes that replaces Cardano DB sync. On mainnet this could lead to savings of up to 70% on the cost to operate a midnight node effectively!
That being said, we also agree that now is the right time for IO to reevaluate priorities and applaud the return of funds to the Treasury.
Acropolis is at a useful checkpoint that other builders can benefit from, and the "last mile of node diversity" is now being responsibly tackled by several other teams (@Amaru_Cardano, @blinklabs_io, @hlabs_tech, and more).

@VBhuvanagiri@AnzensOfficial That being said, I do acknowledge and commend the fact that USDA currently has the lowest borrow rate available among Cardano stable coin options but the initial post asked what would motivate me to interact with USDA. Borrow APY below 7% would motivate me personally to interact.
@VBhuvanagiri@AnzensOfficial The borrow rate for USDC on AAVE is 4.5% while USDA on Liquid is at 11.8%. Cardano will not be competitive in the stable coin borrowing market until there is significantly more liquidity or a different protocol design is used for matching borrowers and lenders.
