What an absolutely ridiculous experience with @INOXMovies , @zomatocare , @carebydistrict and @district_india

We are 18+ COLLEGE STUDENTS. We bought valid tickets for The Odyssey, reached the cinema, and were DENIED ENTRY simply because we were wearing our COLLEGE UNIFORM.

We even offered to show our IDs proving we are 18+. Still denied.

We asked for a refund, and @district_care REFUSED it, claiming that the restriction on guests wearing “school or college uniforms” was CLEARLY MENTIONED in the booking Terms & Conditions.

Really?

I have the Terms & Conditions right here.

They mention age restrictions, outside food, bags, laptops, cameras, alcohol, smoking, 4DX restrictions and more.

WHERE EXACTLY IS THE “COLLEGE UNIFORM” RULE?

@INOXMovies @zomato @district_care @districtindia — point me to the EXACT CLAUSE that says an 18+ college student can be denied entry simply for wearing a college uniform.

Don't send another generic customer-care response.

1. Take our money.
2. Issue us valid tickets.
3. Deny us the service we paid for.

🚨STATEMENT

We are deeply concerned by multiple reports reaching us of students and other protestors being targeted, detained, or arrested by various state agencies, particularly in Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar.

The Cockroach Janta Party had called off its nationwide protest only after the Government of India assured us that no punitive action would be taken against any protestor, either now or in the future, in any BJP-ruled or NDA-ruled states. The reports emerging from these states are therefore a matter of grave concern.

First, we wish to assure every protestor that our legal team is already coordinating with brilliant lawyers in the concerned states to secure the release of those detained and to extend all possible legal assistance. This has been happening from Day 1.

Second, we call upon the Government of India, particularly @JPNadda ji and @DrJitendraSingh ji, to immediately honour the assurance given to us by ensuring the release of those detained and by directing that no coercive or retaliatory action is taken against any protestor anywhere in the country. The FIRs registered ought to be withdrawn too.

The Government of India is also reminded of its commitment to furnish us the written guarantee in this regard by tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 July 2026.

Our decision to suspend the nationwide protest was taken in good faith and solely on the basis of the government’s assurance that it would stand by its word. Any departure from that assurance would not merely amount to a breach of trust with the Cockroach Janta Party but would also be a breach of public trust with lakhs of young Indians who chose dialogue over protests.

Such breach of trust will be completely unacceptable to the youth.

The Government of India is reminded that it derives credibility not from just making a promise, but from the promises they honour.

To the young protestors we say, hold on. We are with you. The CJP continues to closely monitor the situation and expects the Government of India and all BJP/NDA state governments to act with utmost urgency, responsibility, and good faith that the present circumstances demand. We demand that all detainees/arrestees be released immediately, and in any case by tomorrow, and that all FIRs be withdrawn immediately, failing which we shall take further necessary steps.

A friend of mine (slightly older squash buddy) recently faced an issue where BMC drain water got into their drinking and common water pipeline. His entire family was hospitalised and of course several people in his building. Mind you, this is a high rice fancy expensive Powai lake facing society where the houses must be 5-6 cr + if not more. He was feeling throughly disgusted with the system and kept saying what's even the point of living in this country, why am I paying so much taxes, I should just try to leave. Incidentally, that same friend is a hardcore Modi supporter.
Yesterday that same friend was having an argument with me regarding the protests. There were the usual anti-national CIA deepstate angles thrown by him, but I kept getting back to the demand of resignation of Pradhan and how it that a wrong demand? To which his notion was what'll be obtained from removing him. I tried to explain to him that it's all about accountability. If one is held accountable, then it creates an impact on others. Even if you want BJP to stay in power, at least there should be some accountability to ensure you do your job well. At least there should be a thought before screwing up or colluding with corrupt officers. I tried to even remind that wouldn't he want some accountability from the official incharge of the screw up in his building. At this point he got little thoughtful but ofcourse after a minute of 'that's a different thing' he was back to his usual stance.
But it shows me a fascinating thing. That the well-off Modi supporter would rather leave the country than think of changing things or improving the country. They have more or less accepted that things are bad and have placed that on the people themselves. Earlier most of the rich believed in making a silo around them so that country's issues don't bother them, but now that the issues are so much that it's managed to seep through those silos, they'd happily leave the country than even think of casting an aspersion on their beloved leader. Fascinating.
