My husband shouted at me during my 44hr labour “just do what the doctors say and let’s get this over with”

He then left me alone in a noisy ward where other fathers were snoring in chairs next to their families and refused to come pick me up saying “let the midwives look after you”

When he finally came to pick us up he got told off by the nurse for allowing me to carry the baby carrier after such a brutal labour

He proceeded to stay up late and sleep in a separate room (even though he wasn’t working) while I breastfed all night and lived like a single mother

I never forgot his mistreatment at my most vulnerable moment. Never

People often think tax is about filling out forms, but the fact remains that it isn't. It is more about reading legislation, understanding how businesses operate, spotting risks before they become expensive, and finding solutions that stand up to scrutiny.

If you enjoy solving problems, questioning assumptions, and learning every day, tax is a career worth considering.
