@startlaxr33 @YouTooBio If you have to ask over email, offer to meet them in person to discuss your letter. And ALWAYS ask if they will be able to write you a “strong letter of recommendation” if they don’t feel like they can write a strong one, this will give them a chance to say no

@startlaxr33 @YouTooBio My downfall was that I did not have a CV/resume prepared when I asked for the letter. When you ask, send a CV/resume/cover letter/personal statement or whatever the job/position requires. This will help them know you better and write an appropriate letter

@olsonplanner After residency and fellowship, I will already be 70% done. Seems like it’s a no brainer to me especially now that you don’t have to pay taxes on the amount forgiven. Is there a reason not to do it?
