Nearing completion on my custom UE5 volumetric lightmap probe system that is volume based (for baked environments).
Uses GPU lightmass as base and then a custom per volume probe system - Completely eliminates light bleeding due to per area control. Allows for blending between volumes and custom resolutions in custom areas.
Will see if i can make this into a plugin - currently this is a full engine fork so i am unsure if i can make it happen! Still some things left before i can call it feature complete but currently its working exactly as intended!
Fully artist controlled both visually and optimization speaking, no more auto probe placement that is affecting the whole level 💫

@GreenTextRepost old warcraft was a true multiplayer RPG, you couldn't play solo and having a guild or team was huge, small communities where you know everyone and the world changes as people progress was awesome. World felt so alive and huge because of travel restrictions
@_3Leon there is a way, its not as easy as just "save as template" and i couldnt personally get it working. Almost every project i spent like first 3-4 hours configuring everything like i always do... :(
@_3Leon i genuinely wish you could make templates easy yourself, i wish i can preload every project with motion blur off, lumen off, static lights on, lightmass on, auto-exposure off, AA off, inputs already setup!

gimick too expensive, games arent innovative enough, Most boil to sandbox games with extreme VR proficiency, but most nonsandbox game feel like a tech demo for one system, and otherwise feel like a flatscreen game on your headset. Stuff like hands clipping through walls breaks it
