This is why we are building Jàba.
🚀What is Jàba?
Jàba is a modern e-commerce platform that helps farmers and food sellers sell their goods directly to real buyers across Nigeria, with zero middlemen, no stress, and full support from us.

“Any governor who attempts to remove Olubadan, we will disrupt everywhere, and they will declare a state of emergency in Oyo State that same day. No one should dare to attack the Olubadan.” — Sunday Igboho
I think it was this one Saturday when I planned an outing with my guys, only for everyone to cancel at the last minute. I was the only one left and I was still at home oo, and normally I was supposed to just stay back but no, I still went out😭
So I just wandered around, I sat at a restaurant, then I stumbled on an owambe and stayed there till around 6pm when they started packing up. After that I went to a mai suya spot and stayed till 9 pm.
I later walked home and got home around 10:30 when I could have just taken a bike ooI. I took my shower and slept. All this because I didn't want to stay at home😭😭
Omo I'm homophobic like mad😂😂
Dear Punch Journalist,
Let's start with the outright lies.
1. Ladoja/Akala did not move us to where we have today's airport.
The old Ibadan Airport was built in Bodija by the Royal Air Force in 1940. It was later taken over by the Civil Aviation Department in 1953.
The development of the present airport at Alakia was part of the Federal Government's airport development programme of the 1970s. The new airport opened on 24 June 1982, during the Shagari administration.
So, how exactly did Ladoja or Akala, who became governors decades later, move the airport?
2. Makinde did not sell Agbowo Shopping Complex.
The complex was concessioned for redevelopment, not sold.
And you will have to show us where he said it was his "biggest mistake in his first term".
Which "real estate development" did you see at Agbowo?
What he said in his media chat on 11 October 2026 was that completing Agbowo could require another ₦21 billion and might not happen before he leaves office.
3. Makinde did not sell Trans Amusement Park.
The site was earmarked for residential redevelopment through a public-private partnership arrangement. As a journalist, you should know the difference between an outright sale and a PPP arrangement.
The state explained the rationale for the redevelopment in the Governor's newsletter of 21 September 2023:
a. Since 2019, the government had sought private-sector investment to rehabilitate the park. However, interested investors withdrew after due diligence because the ageing equipment was obsolete and could not be repaired.
b. Scrapping the old equipment and constructing a modern amusement park on the same site was considered too expensive.
c. Establishing a modern, more heavily patronised amusement park at that Bodija location would create serious traffic bottlenecks.
The government therefore decided to repurpose the land for housing and pursue the development of a modern amusement park at the proposed Ilutuntun Business District through a PPP collaboration.
You can disagree with the state's decision without resorting to lies and half-truths.
4. Then you lumped together Alalubosa, Agodi Gardens, marketplaces and even Shasha Market.
Shasha Market was rebuilt after the devastating 2021 riots.
Traders relocated to Akinyele while the market was being rebuilt, and some declined to return. Governor Makinde explicitly assured original traders that they would be given priority in the allocation of shops in the reconstructed market.
But here you are, a journalist, not a "politician", playing politics with the consequences of a crisis and the government's reconstruction efforts.
And when you allege that government properties were sold to cronies, where is your evidence?
Finally, there is something fundamentally contradictory about your position.
You acknowledge that urban development followed the airport, yet you present real estate development in other parts of Ibadan as though it is inherently a bad thing.
Real estate development is an important driver of economic growth. It attracts investment, creates jobs, stimulates construction and related industries, and supports urban expansion and modernisation.
There is nothing inherently wrong with government working with private investors to develop public assets, provided the arrangements are transparent and beneficial to the public.
The fact remains that you can fault, disagree with and even argue over government decisions, and that is fine.
But please, stop misrepresenting the facts.
Do a bit of research sometimes so that you don't expose your ignorance.
You may not be a politician, but you are certainly playing politics.
My most detested communication fallacy is ad hominem - attacking the person instead of the argument. It’s common with people who have little to nothing to say.
I like the response to the loud mouth, “go and read”
I watched an interview on #PoliticsToday* on @channelstv, anchored by @seunokin, in which the @OfficialAPCNg National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru (@DrSRJ), called me a “skit maker” and “comedian.”
I am presenting here a photograph I took with Ajibola in 1998, when I led the Congress of Progressive Youths (COPY), and we were both in the trenches fighting against military dictatorship.
What eventually happened to COPY offered an early indication of what Ajibola has become today, but that is a story for another day.
His premise is that because Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT was declared "winner" by @inecnigeria in the deeply flawed 2023 presidential election, those of us who contested against him should somehow be ashamed of losing.
Ajibola @DrSRJ came to the University of Lagos after he was expelled from the University of Ilorin in 1992 for student activism.
I received him alongside Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as “K-Rad,” who is now a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). We provided them with an enabling environment to apply to re-enter the university, gain admission, and study Law at the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria. Both eventually graduated with flying colours and went on to accomplish great things.
The struggle for justice, democracy, freedom and the preservation of human dignity is neither skit-making nor comedy.
Ajibola knows this because he was once part of that struggle and benefited from the solidarity of those who refused to surrender to military tyranny.
It is unfortunate that he has become so carried away by the fleeting privileges of his current political position that he now ridicules the very struggle that helped shape his own future.
But Ajibola should know better. Political appointments are temporary. Tinubu's regime will come and go, just like the military regimes we confronted in our youth.
The principles we fought for in 1994 remain as relevant today as they were then.
Our commitment to justice has endured for decades and will outlast his present political appointment.
The struggle for freedom is not comedy. What is truly comical is watching yesterday's beneficiaries of resistance become today's defenders of the very oppression they once fought against. #RevolutionNow
This man mentioned like 3 things he has worked on as a senator. One in Katsina, 2 for his state. His party no give am ticket.
The gbewudani they gave ticket to can’t point to even a single thing he has done and they’ve been at the senate together for the past 3 & a half years
“Tinubu must not go around the country for campaigns. He is adopting a smarter approach. All these campaign rallies by political parties are just making noise on the streets, nothing meaningful.”
— Segun Showunmi backs President Tinubu’s absence from campaign rallies in several states ahead of the 2027 election.
Federal Government Gets Twice As Much As 36 States Combined — Aworawo
When Buhari was in government, the average monthly revenue was about ₦750 billion, while NNPC remitted nothing because its revenue went into subsidy payments. After subsidy was removed, monthly revenue rose to trillions of naira. The Federal Government receives 52% of the revenue, states get 26%, and the remainder goes to local governments. That is why I say Tinubu does not decide how to share the money; the allocations are predetermined, with the Federal Government receiving twice as much as the 36 states combined.

Ask the Governor of Zamfara (Dauda Lawal), when he was in PDP, I chased him away. He had money, plus other money I hear he is keeping for somebody. Why did he run away from PDP? He couldn't withstand the firework.
