Let’s allow wrinkles and grey hairs to be a badge of a long life lived authentically. We need to celebrate the beauty in aging and the valuable contributions the seniors in our society.
@sarah_e_tesar It makes me more intentional and more reflective on my life. Sometimes you can’t appreciate where you are without looking down the line of how things came to be.
Remember, your age does not define you. You are a masterpiece in constant evolution, growing more radiant with each passing year. Let's rewrite the narrative of aging and pave the way for a future where beauty knows no boundaries. ✨ #AdvocacyInAging24
@dyingandaging I loved hearing about his experiences! The strength and courage it took to share along with his resilience to remain self reliant is admirable.
@agepositively92 I can’t remember a time when the word old was used to describe aging in a good way for people. The only good connotations I can think of would be places where they’re decorated with features from times past.
Age is more than just a number. It’s a tapestry woven with the threads of life experiences and challenges that make us who we are today.

I’m learning to embrace the journey of aging gracefully. Remembering my loved ones that have passed each wrinkle tells a story, and gray hairs were a badge of wisdom. #AdvocacyInAging24
Thought this was an interesting watch this week. If you have time check. It’s called Fear of Forgetting a documentary about dementia. #AdvocacyInAging24

@sarah_e_tesar My reasoning is similar to Jordan’s. I have a son and I’ve always fought to remain financially stable for the both of us. Financial literacy wasn’t something I was taught growing up. I’ve had to learn as I go but I want to at least pass down what I’ve learned to my son.
@Agingwithmaia This class has definitely opened my eyes to how the media and society views aging in all the negative aspects. There are some positive but you have to really search sometimes.
Every person's journey is shaped by a combination of factors. By acknowledging and understanding these intersections, we move towards a more inclusive and compassionate society. #AdvocacyInAging24
Let’s normalize not directing ageism at ourselves when recognizing aging on ourselves. Sometimes our body will just warn us when change is needed. We shouldn’t view back aches or bones popping to just getting old. #AdvocacyInAging24
@sarah_e_tesar I’ve witnessed this with my grandmother during her doctors appointment a few years ago. It’s frustrating to watch those that are supposed to help but choose not to.
This week in class our discussion focused on different websites and how they advertise aging. Something I’ve noticed about a lot of major beauty websites is that they contradict aging. There will be something encouraging aging right beside some anti aging. #AdvocacyInAging24
@agingadvocate17 The media makes aging appear unwanted or not good enough. It is stressed so much that children feel like they need full on skincare routines not even suited for their skin. I wish there was more focus on celebrating aging instead of what we see.
