Major cheat code for life: Always assume things will work out, then do the work to make it true. It’s a mindset of active optimism. Earned faith. It creates a quiet confidence that allows you to tolerate the uncertainty of life better than anything else.
learn to go where wealthy people go. you don’t have to spend like them, you just have to stop feeling like you don’t belong there.
i remember when i couldn’t afford the lifestyle i wanted yet.
every friday evening, i’d walk into a high end hotel lobby, order one coffee, sit in the same corner and open my laptop like i belonged there. nobody knew i was going back to a small brokie apartment after 😂 all they saw was someone comfortable in that environment. week after week, something changed.
i stopped feeling like an outsider. i studied how people spoke, how they carried themselves, how deals were discussed and how confidence looked in real life.
one night, a man approached me cos he assumed i was a regular. that conversation opened a door to an opportunity i wasn’t qualified for on paper but i carried myself like i was. do you know that months later, my reality caught up with that environment i had been exposing myself to. nothing magical happened. i simply stopped seeing that world as theirs and started seeing it as a place i belonged too
i will repeat this again;
if you spend all day at a fish market, you’ll leave smelling like fish even if you never touched one but spend your day in a perfume shop and you’ll carry the scent even if you didn’t buy anything, that’s how environment works. it rubs off, whether you realize it or not. the scent of your environment will always follow you.
wealth starts with familiarity before it starts with money. your mind has to accept a reality before ur life can build it. learn something, buena suerte.
This line from Atomic Habits isn't ready to leave my head:
"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
My favorite line from Atomic Habits has been living in my head rent-free:
“It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
Compounding is the closest thing to a cheat code life gives you.
Everything builds on itself, your skills, finances, relationships, health, reputation, even your mistakes.
All it takes is consistency.
Major cheat code for life: Be fully where your feet are. When you're at work, work. When you're with family, be with family. When you're resting, rest. Most people are physically present and mentally everywhere else.
Cardoso just quietly dropped something crazy.
Nigeria’s NET reserves hit $34.80 billion.
This same number was $3.99 billion in 2023.
772% in 2 years. Let that satisfactorily sink in.
Most of you see reserves and just scroll. But this one number affects EVERYTHING. How stable your Naira is. How long we can keep importing without wahala. Whether oyinbo investors trust us enough to bring their dollars here.
Now something most people mix up.
GROSS reserves and NET reserves are not the same thing. Gross is the total sitting in the account. Net is what’s actually ours after you remove all the debts and obligations. The money we can actually use.
Gross right now? $50.45 billion. Highest in 13 years.
But net going from $3.99 billion to $34.80 billion? That’s the real gist. In 2023 we no fit even cover our FX obligations. Now there’s actual breathing room.
What changed? CBN cleaned up the FX mess. Made things more transparent. Investors started trusting the system. Dollars started flowing back in.
And it’s showing. Inflation don drop for 11 months straight. Food inflation hit single digits for the first time since 2011. CBN don cut rates twice since September. Naira dey hold.
Whether you feel am for your pocket yet or not, this is the foundation. Everything else gets built on top of this.
So tell me. With all of this improving, where are you actually putting your money?
Savings? Stocks? Real estate? T-bills?
I genuinely want to know. Drop it below.

The book “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell thoroughly explains this concept.
That’s why I consider it one of the most important books you must read as a human being.
Because once you do, you begin to ask yourself “What is my unfair advantage leverage?”
Sometimes, it’s your family. Sometimes it’s a friend or your schoolmates. Sometimes, it’s a circle of people building something new which you’re a part of. Sometimes, it’s someone in your network who is unfairly accessible to you.
Look inward. Reach out. Collaborate and exploit those advantages to succeed.
Leverage is like a springboard. It helps you move upwards faster, and quicker.
Even Moses in the Bible had leverage. He was raised in Pharaohs house like a King. It was why Pharaoh could listen to him and respect his audience when he found his own purpose.
The person who will take you to the next level of success in life, the chances are high that you’ve already met them. You just haven’t thought deeply enough yet. And even if you haven’t, now is the time to start building new, genuine connections that will in time, grant you your much desired leverage.
Selah.
I think about decisions in three ways: hats, haircuts, and tattoos.
Most decisions are like hats. Try one and if you don’t like it, put it back and try another. The cost of a mistake is low, so move quickly and try a bunch of hats.
Some decisions are like haircuts. You can fix a bad one, but it won’t be quick and you might feel foolish for a while. That said, don't be scared of a bad haircut. Trying something new is usually a risk worth taking. If it doesn't work out, by this time next year you will have moved on and so will everyone else.
A few decisions are like tattoos. Once you make them, you have to live with them. Some mistakes are irreversible. Maybe you'll move on for a moment, but then you'll glance in the mirror and be reminded of that choice all over again. Even years later, the decision leaves a mark. When you're dealing with an irreversible choice, move slowly and think carefully.
Something I kinda always knew but was confirmed last year is that you can't be what you can't see. Look for ways to make your world bigger. Travel, read, befriend larger than life people.
One great piece of advice I got from my mentor, Zainab Salihijo, is:
Make all necessary plans and be prepared at all times for the goals you have set to achieve. Let the only thing stopping you be money or the right opportunity.
Don’t let an opportunity find you unprepared.
Save this if you look forward to becoming a manager, leading a team, making decisions. Moving up the ladder to a managerial level.
Here are 5 things you should be aware of👇🏾
1. What brought you here will not keep you here.
You were promoted because you were excellent at your job. You delivered. You executed. You outperformed.
Then the job changed.
2. Management isn’t about being the best anymore.
It’s about making others their best.
You move from being the star performer to building stars.
3. Stop competing with your team. Start cultivating them.
This is where many new managers struggle.
We keep doing what made us successful before instead of creating space for others to grow.
4. Your output is no longer tasks.
Your output is people — their clarity, confidence, and growth.
That shift takes time to accept.
5. Your job is to build people.
The promotion wasn’t a reward for past performance.
It was an invitation to develop an entirely new skill set: clarity, feedback, emotional intelligence, patience, restraint.
