1. Getting your nails done is not fun. You’ll be anxious the whole time because you think they’re going to hurt your fingers. And those massage chairs be beating your ass!
2. No matter how hard you try, there will be dishes waiting on you at all times.
3. You question how someone allowed you to be in charge.. especially of children.
4. You realize your friends are actually in charge of things too and that’s really weird.
5. You start to see why your mama was irritated when you didn’t take the meat out the freezer on time.
6. You learn that people who tend to manipulate others, had a hard time getting their needs met as children.
7. You get to use money exactly how you want but there could be consequences if you don’t do it right.
8. The game Monopoly was trying to tell us that real estate would be monopolized.
9. One job may not be enough.
10. Public school is not free. They are constantly begging parents for money.
11. You learn how easy it is to become disabled.
12. You realize one day you’ll have to parent your parents.. if you haven’t already started in childhood.
13. Deciding not to have kids could have a great impact on your life.
14. You can decorate your home how you want to. You can put a bed in the living room if you like.
15. Insurance is expensive whether your deductible is high or not.
16. Some people really work until they expire.
17. You can’t make other adults treat you well. They want to have to do this for themselves.
18. Once you’re on a healing journey you’ll see how many people have deep emotional wounds.
19. Finding genuine friends that appreciate reciprocity, that also live near you is one of the hardest things you’ll do.
2024s theme is action. Putting plans into action, putting resources into action, taking action. You know what you need to do and how to do it b/c people have been telling you over and over again. You keep asking for more info - what have you done with the info you’ve already been given?
I do! I ask how I’m doing as a parent, what I need to work on, what I need to do more or less of. It helps. Just because you feed and provide a roof over their head doesn’t always mean you’re a good parent. That’s you doing what you’re supposed to do.
the best thing i’ve seen on tik tok is learning not to live for the weekends when you work a 9-5. fill your week with mini things/activites to look forward to after work (according to your energy levels ofc) & boost your happiness! no more sunday blues :)
