TUPAC: SISTERS, KEEP YA HEAD UP
Tupac Shakur - rapper, actor and activist - was born on this day 55 years ago, on 16 June 1971.
Born into a family deeply involved in the Black Panther movement, Tupac was raised with a political consciousness that shaped both his worldview and his art. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was a prominent member of the Black Panther Party, and many of his earliest songs reflected that revolutionary spirit.
Like many of us, he was a complex figure, but his legacy and his unwavering love for his people were evident throughout his life and work.
In this clip, he delivers a powerful a cappella rendition of his classic "Keep Ya Head Up" in front of a classroom of students. More than three decades later, his music still resonates, and songs like "Keep Ya Head Up" demonstrate that hip hop is at its absolute most powerful when it speaks to the struggles, aspirations and lived experiences of the communities from which it emerged.

Congolese fans are out in the streets celebrating that draw against Portugal. They had never scored a goal at a World Cup before. Absolute scenes in Kinshasa.
Expanding this tournament to include more teams is giving us some of the best moments by far.
Fascinating interview. Aaron’s right, the hosts came prepared with follow-ups. Rare to see the VP challenged like this and so crazy it’s on a daytime show and not an actual news/Sunday show.
I’m glad @ananavarro mentioned the stat about all but three refugees being allowed in being white South Africans.
Trump, though, was the elephant in the room. I’d have liked to have seen some Qs forcing Vance to justify Trump’s unjustifiable rhetoric and behavior: eg him calling all Somalis ‘garbage’ and criminals.
The DOJ has asked a federal judge to halt Evanston, Illinois’ reparations program, the nation’s first initiative designed to address the lasting impacts of historic housing discrimination. As this case moves forward, the conversation about how America confronts and remedies past injustice remains as important as ever! https://t.co/t1rzWzKNGn

🚨🇮🇶 THIS IS THE STORY OF AYMEN HUSSEIN!
• His father was killed by Al Qaida.
• His brother was kidnapped and never found again.
• When he entered the USA for the World Cup, he was interrogated for 7 hours.
• He was very close to not being allowed to enter the country.
• And now he scores the 2nd goal in Iraq's World Cup history.
We proudly endorse Rep. @RoKhanna for re-election in #CA17.
Khanna has transformed into a leading voice against unconditional military aid, including votes against billions in weapons transfers to Israel, co-sponsor of the Block the Bombs bill, & demanding a permanent ceasefire.
Around 100 people, including Greta Thunberg and other Flotilla activists, have rallied in Brussels to demand the EU block the sale of Israeli-labeled goods manufactured in the occupied West Bank.

Under siege and genocide, even a simple shower has become a luxury millions of children can only dream of.
"Who cares about people’s feelings? We’re talking about a genocide."
