4 days out from my life-changing surgery, @Aetna has denied the appeal for my brain surgery.
to be clear, when i signed up to aetna months ago, the coordinator had confirmed they would cover this surgery. then, a week ago, they said the surgery was too experimental/elective and denied coverage. we appealed. that appeal was just denied today.
now, my neurosurgeon is trying to do a peer-to-peer consult with someone at aetna to explain why i need it so we don’t lose the surgery date on monday morning. aetna is not being responsive.
this is sadistic and a violation of basic trust. please spread this so they can’t ignore it. they may not care if i live or die but people should know just what kind of company they’re dealing with. and please pray they are able to have a peer-to-peer consult with my neurosurgeon and have a change of heart.
Do not talk about @S_Aljafarawi’s martyrdom without saying how & who killed him. Saleh was killed by a militia within Gaza of traitors & collaborators with “Israel”. This is how “Israel” continues its crimes. Collaboration is born of greed, of power-seeking at the expense of one’s land & people. Do not strip Saleh’s martyrdom of its meaning. He was killed not only by an Enemy bullet, but by those who chose the Enemy’s side & who embody the Occupation’s internal weapon: strife & division. This is a lesson for everyone everywhere.
Israel and Pakistan 🇵🇰 heated spat at the United Nations Security Council after Israel mentions Pakistan repeatedly by name:
Pakistan SLAMS Israel, says it is an “occupier feigning victimhood, violating UN resolutions and committing state terrorism in Gaza”.
Pakistan further says, “We cannot accept insinuations from an irresponsible rogue state that is, in fact, the perpetrator of the worst kind of state terrorism that we are witnessing in Gaza and, in fact, in the occupied Palestinian territories for decades.”
While everyone focuses on the Charlie Kirk story, this deserves at least equal attention: the U.S. military, in collusion with the South Korean government, maintained during decades a system where tens of thousands of women were forced into sexual servitude for U.S. soldiers, many of whom were minors.
This isn't speculation: the South Korean supreme court ruled in 2022 that the government had illegally operated these brothels, in a way where the women were subjected to debt bondage and unable to leave. In fact, as per the New York Times (https://t.co/8fSZFWWwng), "all the women [in this system] were held in debt bondage," so they were all, effectively, sex slaves.
The scale of it was so insane that the economy around these brothels (bars, etc.) was estimated to make up about 25% of South Korea's GDP during the 1960s and 70s (https://t.co/ACboV0Jy86).
Sordid detail: if one of these women developed a STD, she would be placed into quarantine facilities that US soldiers referred to as "Monkey Houses," (pictured below 👇) because of the screams of women demanding to be let out (https://t.co/tsIRpeCgTC). The women also had to wear numbered badges or tags, like commodity products.
More than 100 of these women have now filed a landmark lawsuit against the U.S. military to hold it accountable as “the real culprit” in that state-sponsored sex trade.
The women however, under agreements between the US and South Korea, cannot sue the U.S. military directly - only their own government. So, perversely, even if the court finds the U.S. military was "the real culprit" in this system of sexual slavery, it's South Korean taxpayers who will have to pay for that.
what’s not clocking to yall is that we’re not celebrating g*n vi*lence, we’re celebrating a klan member being removed from this earth. i wish it had been natural causes as much as the next guy but hey, beggars can’t be choosers
