This is what I love about code, about open source... it's the community & developers coming together to make the world a better place 🥰
Fantastic talk happening by @WHO right now on the developer track 👉 https://t.co/0o2fK9wAtM

Now's the time to explore the past, present, and future of technology and public health with WHO. It's all happening on the Developer channel in just a few minutes at #GitHubUniverse. Tune in! https://t.co/zomRrkJM6Y
@tonyhhyip@WHO We will be fostering collaboration by opening relevant software for global collaboration, with no discrimination. We are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration for the benefit of humanity. You and anyone else from Taiwan, as well as any other part of the World, are welcome.
@tonyhhyip@WHO In the spirit of open-source software and good faith, we are welcoming and encouraging any individual, organisation and community of any size to work with us on sharing knowledge and developing solutions for improving health and well-being of each and every person worldwide.
For the past few months, @WHO has been working to open source some of their applications. If you're interested in collaborating find out how at https://t.co/OcNbIiHYjv #GitHubUniverse#PublicHealth#ICT4D
"We argue that these data have little epidemiological value to show excess mortality in Lombardy."
"what is missing in Italy .. other countries affected by the pandemic is a robust system of epidemic intelligence"

@EricTopol@OurWorldInData Also interesting to see how these countries differ in testing
The US finds a case for every 5.6 tests they do.
In the countries this ratio is much higher – they do a large number of tests per each confirmed case.

Good idea. Feed the $3,600,000,000 beast that has woeful outcomes, no less the highest cost (now > $11,000 per person/yr) of all 36 @OECD countries https://t.co/d6kKzE5zUu by @JStein_WaPo and @yabutaleb7
@VerticaiCEO @HumanBrainProj All the HBP communication, including the one repored@by The Daily Express, refers to epilepsy in general, which is misleading. Epilepsy is a condition with quite a vast and largely unknown aetiology. Neurosurgery is applicable in a minority of clinical cases.
@VerticaiCEO @HumanBrainProj The “Improving Epilepsy Care” HBP topic is actually about using simulations and “virtual patient” for the neurosurgery scenarios. It is not relevant for a vast minority of epilepsy patients, especially paediatric patients.
@VerticaiCEO @HumanBrainProj Thirdly, it’s not good if a 1 billion worth research project refers to a tabloid newspaper, such as The Daily Express, for advertising the progress made so far.
@VerticaiCEO @HumanBrainProj Secondly, the example of the synergy between neuroscience, technology and clinical practice in the case of epilepsy is so generalised that it is on the verge of being misleading.
The data is buried in electronic health records of leading university hospitals in Europe and North America. It's about time to link patient data for the sake of discovering common biological patterns to speed up scientific discoveries and to provide optimal healthcare on time.
This "disease mystery with no shortage of leads" should be compared with disease mysteries with many biological and symptomatic commonalities in the developed part of the world.
