It's important to note that there are genetically determined differences in sleep duration. Someone whose genetic profile resembles that of a short sleeper needs 4.5-6.5 hours of sleep, and more is detrimental to the body. This type of person experiences no disadvantages and even has better biomarkers. I personally function best with 5-5.5 hours of sleep (of which at least 24-30% is deep sleep and 25-30% is REM sleep, measured with a Pixel Watch 4).
