⚠️ Private API of the day:
UINavigationBar’s _UINavigationBarLargeTitleView subview has an _accessoryView property that acts as a sort of bar button item that aligns with the large title label.
This is used in all sorts of system apps like Health, Music, and Podcasts. Enjoy! 🥳
@JoeKun I cannot play Apple Music media anymore using MPMusicPlayerController or SystemMusicPlayer. I’m using Mac Catalyst. I think this started with 14.1 which included changes to the Music app. Works fine when using ApplicationMusicPlayer. Can you reproduce?
I had filed feedback back in April 2020 that there is no property in SwiftUI like we have hidesBottomBarWhenPushed in UIKit.
Got a resolution today that it is possible in iOS 16 using .toolbar(.hidden, in: .tabBar) modifier
@Cocoanetics@FloWritesCode I don’t think it would be possible without resorting to AnyView. I usually pass the data model as the case parameter and keep the view builder inside the enum. Unfortunately it requires writing a bit more code.
Are you a developer of a well-known iPhone app who plans to adopt the Live Activities feature on iOS 16? Send me a Twitter DM if you are interested in being listed in a MacRumors story about apps that plan to support the feature. Thanks!
Apple improved the performance of their music app by configuring an opt-in setting of URLSessionConfiguration.
You might be surprised it's not a default enabled option. Let me explain the how and why:

@KSlazinski @SkoresApp I think about the same, but since the app is new I’m trying to reduce the entry barrier to attract more users and gain popularity and reviews. I’m hoping this strategy will pay dividends in the future! If it doesn’t I will go back to 1.99$.
