For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.

I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).

@waitrose Thank you Demi. Has there been any update?

[emma flancs @_emmalancaster]

@waitrose why is it company policy to throw away bakery items? No ‘reduced to clear’, just straight into the bin bag (staff confirmed going in the bin). Has happened on more than one occasion ~8:30pm. Meanwhile homeless person outside literally asking shoppers to buy them bread.

[emma flancs @_emmalancaster]

@KnightRidingKit @waitrose The member of staff I spoke to said it was being thrown away.

[emma flancs @_emmalancaster]

@waitrose It was Holloway Road. But I would like this to be raised to the Head Office as I know this is not one store or staff member’s decision as I’ve seen similarly wasteful practices at other stores and the staff member I spoke to about it was apologetic so must be corporate decision.

@Debenhams hello, please can you reply to my DM about my order? Thanks

[emma flancs @_emmalancaster]

@allpointseastuk will you be offering refunds to people who test COVID positive? Can't see anything in your FAQs. Thanks

[Prof. Katharine Hayhoe @KHayhoe]

Hey so @YaleClimateComm has released a new set of my very fav maps that break down US opinion by congressional district + county. Here are two things people's opinions changed a LOT on in just one year, and two where they did NOT. Any guesses on which they are? Here we go ...

[Zarah Sultana MP @zarahsultana]

A tiny number of billionaires own vast swathes of our press.

Their papers relentlessly campaign for right-wing politics, promoting the interests of the ruling class and scapegoating minorities.

A free press is vital to democracy, but too much of our press isn't free at all.

[emma flancs @_emmalancaster]

It doesn’t have to be this way!!!!!

[Cindybby @cindybbyxxx]

When u think about it social media is actually so weird it’s like a competition of who’s got the best fake life

Everyone at @durham_uni, staff, student & alumni, a student in my college has made an open letter asking the university to honour offers made this year as the grading system has robbed so many who normally would have gained places, please sign & share! https://t.co/qoaow3mVJy

[Catherine Owen @GeogMum]

@itvwestcountry Please watch this @durham_uni & consider giving Lilly a place. She is a wonderful young woman. Her details are in the linked article.

#AlevelResults Predicted A*A*A*. Expcetionally low performing school. No one had ever achieved a Cambridge offer before in my sixth form. Performed at A*A*A consistently. Today, A*AB. Dropped two grades in Sociology. Denied Cambridge place. This is what has happened to me.
