We got my mom one of these little boxes of 'table talk' questions for Christmas this year. A recent question we had:
“If you could be world-class at one thing, what would it be?”
My answer? Writing. Here's why: 👇
@AmandaMGoetz Working on providing reimbursements for travel-induced childcare at our company. Likely up to a certain amount per night gone. Would LOVE to know what models or working if anyone is doing this! Paying for additional childcare is such a barrier for moms traveling.
@zachmstuck We brought ours in house last year - huge learning curve but well worth it. Can't overstate the value of having control, and echoing @ChadCarleton w/the sentiment that no one will care about your customers/shipments like you do.
Anyway, if you’re disappointed right now, be patient. Wait for it. Find a way through the disappointment. And trust, pray, and believe that one day you can look back and see it as a gift. ✨
But it’s so much fun to look back at those disappointments as gifts. I could not be more grateful that this job didn’t work out. The opportunities that have turned into jobs started the same way as the disappointments - with a single conversation.
Those of us who complain that we’re way too busy and tired because of all the work we have to do might want to confront the part of ourself that is uncomfortable with stillness & addicted to work and thus very good at making sure that there’s always a lot that “has” to get done.
CX culture is so important when you are setting up a team because it truly defines how you view the department.
Is this a marketing tool and an investment in brand?
Or is this a fire extinguisher?
@toddba I will also say I’m in the process of trying to stop using USPS entirely bc lost package process and reliability is so bad. FedEx is worlds better. And I find international customers are willing to pay higher shipping fees.
@toddba Heyyya! We aren’t shipping international currently, but if/when we do I am confident we will not use USPS. We use them now for some small packages but use FedEx for 90% of pkgs. MUCH better CX & you may be able to negotiate rates depending on volume. Happy to chat more!
Anyone in #ecommerce (or any business) using Zendesk Answer Bot? I'm trying to get a sense of the back end to understand how simple/hard it would be to implement and can't get anyone at Zendesk to even give me screenshots. This seems crazy & makes me think it's super complex.
The mental load of motherhood is real. But the phrase 'mom brain' has always been a trigger for me. This article articulates what I've struggled to explain.
